Super Bowl 59 Wide Receivers Comparison

1. Book It: A.J. Brown Top Threat for Eagles

It had been a quiet postseason for Philadelphia’s A.J. Brown, but that all changed in the NFC Championship Game. Brown posted six catches for 96 yards and a touchdown as the Eagles punched their ticket to the Super Bowl.

Prior to the conference title matchup, Brown had plenty of time to read his book on the sideline. Brown had just three receptions in the previous two playoff wins. When you bet online, Brown’s touchdown prop offers a plus return at +160.

Brown’s inconsistent involvement has more to do with the Eagles offense. When Philadelphia’s passing game is clicking, Brown is going to be a major part of that.

2. Rookie WR Xavier Worthy Emerges as Chiefs Top Wideout

It may be his rookie season, but Xavier Worthy has emerged as the Chiefs’ most explosive weapon. Worthy posted at least five receptions in Kansas City’s two postseason games, per Chiefs vs Eagles stats.

The playmaker is coming off six receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown against the Bills. There are a few ways fans can attack Worthy’s props in the NFL betting odds.

Worthy’s anytime TD prop is set at +150. The rookie’s receptions over-under is set relatively high at 5.5. Worthy’s NFL player prop pick of 56.5 receiving yards may be a bit more enticing.

3. Numbers Stay the Same for Eagles WR DeVonta Smith

It is not just America’s favorite book reader that has experienced a drop off in offensive production. DeVonta Smith has been involved but has put up modest numbers throughout this postseason, even in the Eagles’ 55-point performance in the NFL title game.

Smith has had four receptions in all three of Philly’s postseason matchups. Two Super Bowl props to keep an eye on for Smith.

The wideout’s anytime touchdown prop is set at +240. Smith’s receptions are set at 4.5 for the Super Bowl.

4. Can Chiefs WR DeAndre Hopkins Find the Time Machine?

Is this a safe space, if so, I have a confession. I expected more from DeAndre Hopkins after his breakout Monday Night Football performance versus the Buccaneers in early November. The veteran made NFL news when he was traded to the Chiefs by Tennessee in late October.

Instead, Hopkins has just one catch on only three targets during the entire NFL playoffs. This sounds a little more drastic than it is since Kansas City only had to play two postseason games to advance to the Super Bowl.

Andy Reid will have two weeks to think of ways to get Hopkins involved. The former Pro Bowler does have five touchdowns this season and four of these came since the trade. The NFL odds have a +500 return for Hopkins’ anytime touchdown, and I may just have to snag this as a nice lottery ticket play.
