By now, the season opener between the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs has been widely discussed. Yet, it is still a must-watch matchup. However, this is not the only Week 1 game that fans are circling.

Here are the four must-see NFL Week 1 games!

No. 1: Patrick Mahomes Takes on Lamar Jackson in AFC Championship Rematch

Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes take the top spot in a rematch of the AFC Championship. Chiefs fans are likely hoping the offseason ends sooner rather than later with several Kansas City players getting into legal trouble. Jackson may not be excited for a chance at revenge but fans sure are.

I really don’t care who we play; it really didn’t matter,” Jackson said, per Pro Football Talk. “At the end of the day, our goal is to make it to the Super Bowl. We lost to them in the playoffs.

Just us beating them in the regular season doesn’t really do anything; it just helps us keep stacking up wins to hopefully make it to the playoffs if anything to try to get in that same position again and hopefully be successful. It really doesn’t matter who we play [in the] first game; obviously, it’s the Chiefs, but I really didn’t care.

No. 2: C.J. Stroud Battles Anthony Richardson in Colts-Texans

This matchup may not be a unanimous betting pick but is the lone non-primetime matchup to make the cut. Yet, we get one of the best quarterback matchups of Week 1 with the return of Anthony Richardson against rising star C.J. Stroud.

The Houston Texans spent the offseason upgrading Stroud’s weapons headlined by the trade for Stefon Diggs. Richardson played just four NFL games before sustaining a season-ending shoulder injury.

It is hard to know whether the Indianapolis Colts have enough surrounding pieces for Indy to make a run this season. There is still plenty of intrigue with this AFC South matchup just based on the firepower at quarterback alone.

No. 3 Aaron Rodgers Makes Return Against 49ers on Monday Night Football

As much as I am tired of the endless talk about Aaron Rodgers, this is still a must-watch matchup. Let’s hope Rodgers is back to full health and the New York Jets are able to live up to the amount of media hype the team has received for two straight offseasons.

Fresh off their Super Bowl appearances, the San Francisco 49ers are poised to once again make noise in the NFC. Rodgers could be in for a not-so-pleasant return to action in the Bay Area. This Monday Night Football matchup should serve as the perfect ending to an intriguing Week 1.

No. 4: Lions Take on Rams on Sunday Night Football

There is a difference between being the feel-good story of the NFL and entering the season with lofty expectations. It will be worth watching how the Detroit Lions respond to this difference.

Detroit was two quarters away from making the Super Bowl before San Francisco orchestrated an epic second-half comeback in the NFC Championship. The Los Angeles Rams will begin life without Aaron Donald with questions surrounding whether an aging core still has enough left to make a run in the NFC West.

As an added bonus, we get Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff squaring off against their old teams. The Lions open as a 3½-point favorite at the sportsbook versus the Rams in this Sunday Night Football showdown.
