Week 2 RB Prop Bets: Titans 1, Giants 0

  • Tennessee’s Tony Pollard averaged 5.1 yards per carry in Week 1.
  • Pollard will excel in a tough matchup against the New York Jets.
  • Nobody on the Giants offense is worth trusting with NFL predictions.

NFL Week 2 odds are here, and it’s time to dive into two key running back prop bets that could make or break your weekend.

Tony Pollard is primed for a standout game as Tennessee’s clear lead back while Devin Singletary faces an uphill battle in an underwhelming New York Giants offense.

Let’s explain why Pollard is among my best NFL prop bets today and why Singletary is a fade candidate you might want to avoid.

2 Top RB Prop Bets for Week 2

1. Pick: Tony Pollard, RB Tennessee Titans

Tony Pollard is set up for a strong performance against the New York Jets in Week 2 despite what may seem like a challenging matchup. Pollard dominated Tennessee’s backfield in Week 1, handling 70% of the team’s rushing attempts and out-touching Tyjae Spears 19-8.

Pollard’s 5.1 yards per carry on 16 rushes for 82 yards and a touchdown along with three receptions for 12 yards showed that he’s fully recovered from his 2023 offseason surgery and ready to handle the workload.

What’s especially impressive about Pollard’s Week 1 performance is that it came in a tough matchup, yet he still thrived. The Jets have a formidable defense, but Pollard’s explosiveness and the trust the coaching staff has placed in him as the lead back make him a strong bet to perform well again.

While Spears will see some third-down work, Pollard is clearly the go-to option. His ability to run effectively and contribute in the passing game gives him multiple paths to success on Sunday.

With the Tennessee Titans firmly behind Pollard as their lead back, expect him to be a key factor against the Jets and with NFL prop bets.

2. Fade: Devin Singletary, RB New York Giants

Fading anyone on the Giants’ offense feels like online bullying at some level. The entire unit – heck, the entire team – is so tragically bad that dumping on them will probably earn me some bad karma. But, if it also earns me some quick cash, I can live with kicking a horse while it is down. I’m also a New York Giants fan, so let me have this cathartic moment.

If you are looking for a runner to fade for online betting in Week 2, Singletary might be the best choice among NFL starters. Against the Minnesota Vikings, Singletary averaged 3.7 yards per carry and managed just 37 total yards on 10 touches. He added 15 yards on five catches.

With Daniel Jones looking like the worst quarterback in football, defenses can focus more on the rushing game. They can stack the box, making Singletary’s already arduous task nearly impossible.

The Commanders aren’t a top-tier defense, but even the Little Giants team would probably fare better against them than the team we’re being forced to watch each week. There is zero chance he makes my list of NFL game props to wager.

Question of the Day

Who led the NFL in Week 1 in rushing yards?

Houston’s Joe Mixon ran for 159 yards in Week 1 with San Francisco’s Jordan Mason a close second with 147.
