Weekend Wrap-Up: NFL Combine’s Over, Deebo Is Headed to DC, Cena Turns Heel, & More-dasa

John Cena Broke the Internet Turning Heel, Deebo Is Heading to DC, Embiid Is Out & More

The NFL Combine Is Over, on to Pro Days & the Draft

If you’ve been keeping up with all the latest NFL news and action this offseason, you probably noticed the 2025 NFL combine went down at the end of last week!

With some of the biggest names in the prospect pool for this year’s NFL draft putting on a show at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts, some of the biggest names in college football showed what they got.

In contrast, others looked like they would need to perform very strongly in their school’s respective pro days to try and salvage their draft stock.

Yes, I’m talking about you, Will Howard.

With pro days coming up and NFL rumors flying left and right on what teams will do with their picks, all we have left are performance stats to look over and a few funny faces from the 40-yard dash.

You’re welcome.

Deboo Is Headed to DC

I called it! I called it, and I have proof here in my piece about the San Francisco 49ers honoring Deebo Samuel’s request to be traded!

Following news of Samuel wanting out of San Francisco it was the Washington Commanders, the team who had the best NFL betting odds to land the star receiver who ended up pulling off a trade that will see Deebo join reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels in DC next season in exchange for a 5th round pick in this year’s draft.

Does Deebo going to DC make sense? Yes. Of course, it makes sense. Considering what Daniels did with Washington’s offense while playing with a limited set of weapons, now imagine what can come off having a wide-back like Samuel doing double-duty attacking plays for him?

Don’t be shocked if by mid-season Samuel’s stats are sky-rocketing once again.

Stop Everything; John Cena Turned Heel!

No. Not since Hulk Hogan turned heel at WCW’s Bash At The Beach in 1996 did anybody expect something in professional wrestling quite like what fans witnessed this past Saturday at the “Elimination Chamber” event in Canada.

I honestly can’t believe I’m saying this. Still, John Cena, everybody’s favorite sports entertainment superhero-style wrestler, dropped his babyface act and finally joined the dark side, or corporate side.

I don’t know; I’m still dealing with it. The thing is John Cena turned heel!

Following a win in the main event of the night, right after pinning CM Punk with an STFU, which was preceded by a Seth Rollins stump, Cena made good on his promise that he would leave the Chamber as a winner and head to challenge WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania.

Until then, everything was good with the world. And then sh*it hit the fan!

Following an appearance from Rhodes, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and Travis Scott, the sixteen-time champion would deliver a low blow kick to the “American Nightmare” and enter his new era as heel Cena.

I speak for everybody here when I say that millions of hearts were broken, from kids to adults.

The worst part is that we saw Cena turn heel before Grand Theft Auto 6 was released.

I honestly don’t know what pisses me off more, to be honest.

If You Can Count, Count Embiid Out for the Season

Nineteen. That’s the number of NBA games Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid had played this season with his team before officially being sidelined for the rest of the season.

In a way, we should have seen this coming, especially since late last year when Stephen A. Smith was already comparing Embiid to Ben Simmons.

With rumors already out of the Sixers and the league considering having Embiid medically retire if he can’t be up to level a year from now, is it time for Philly to count their losses, help their star center recover, and go in a different way?

While Embiid’s situation is sad, it is also as predictable as possible.

One More Lap Around the Block

It’s March 3; spring is almost upon us, the weather is clearing up little by little, and most importantly, March Madness is almost here!

With college hoops entering the most intense month of the season, who’s ready for some madness?

Over in Spain, keeping up on my weekly recap of the ever-so-tight race for the La Liga soccer tournament, Barcelona took advantage of Real Madrid falling 2-1 against Real Betis, even with Atletico de Madrid winning 1-0 against Athletic Bilbao to take first place in the standings with 57 points against Atleti’s 56 and Real Madrid’s 54.

With Barcelona playing host to Atlético two weeks from now, a lot could be decided on March 16th.

Until next week, keep it classy peeps!
