NFL Draft Dreams and Prank Calls: Shedeur Sanders Slipped Like There Was No Tomorrow, and More

The NFL Went Drafting

Starting Thursday and going until Saturday, the 2025 NFL draft took place in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

As expected and predicted by every single NFL news outlet in the land, the Tennessee Titans took Cam Ward with the No.1 overall pick.

Ward, the consensus favorite to go first, and No.1 QB prospect in this year’s draft will now take on the gargantuan task of trying to turn the Titans from flops to potential contenders, even if some people (yeah ESPN, I’m talking about you) fumbled the ball in giving him some well-deserved props.

In other major moves, the Jacksonville Jaguars shocked the league by trading up with the Cleveland Browns to select Colorado dual-threat phenom Travis Hunter with the No.2 pick.

When looking at Travis Hunter’s stats from his last season in Colorado, both on offense and defense, Jacksonville’s offering a bounty in exchange for the pick makes perfect sense.

For a team that doesn’t get many “Ws” in its record, the Jaguars scored immensely here.

Shedeur Sanders Almost Went Unpicked

Staying with the draft, one of the most important prospects in the event, be it because of his talent or the overwhelming slew of NFL rumors surrounding him, Shedeur Sanders was handed not only a piece of humble pie but the whole bakery this past weekend.

Hosting an over-the-top draft party, in a custom room built especially for the occasion, Sanders, who was predicted to be one of the first players picked, saw his draft daydreams turn into nightmares really fast.

Falling to the 144th pick in the fifth round of the draft, Sanders will join the Cleveland Browns, the team that was expected to take him much earlier and who experts believed saw in the former Colorado star their new franchise passer for the future.

The question now is, with Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel (picked before Sanders in the draft), and Deshaun Watson all in competition to snag up Cleveland’s QB1 position alongside Shedeur, who will be the team’s starting passer in week 1?

Repeat After Me, Prank Calls Are Not Cool

Apparently, Jax Ulbrich, son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, thought it was cool to access his old man’s iPad, which contained top-secret draft information, snag Sanders’ phone number, and prank call him to tell him he was being selected by the New Orleans Saints, one of Atlanta’s divisional rivals.

It’s one thing to talk smack about players and prospects going into the league. But to play with a man’s emotions like that has no explanation whatsoever.

Ulbrich would take to social media to apologize for his wrongdoing after seeing the massive backlash his dumbass joke caused.

For now, here’s to hoping Shedeur gets his in the league, proving haters wrong, first and foremost, Jax Ulbrich.

The NBA Playoffs Have Been Serving

The 2025 NBA playoffs continued this weekend, with one question left lingering. Is it time for Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks fans to start thinking about next season?

Following respective losses over the weekend against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Indiana Pacers in their playoff series, with both series now at 3-1 in favor of the latter, LeBron’s Lakers, late-season NBA betting odds favorites to make a title run, could be gearing up for an early exit out of the postseason.

For the Bucks, who came into their series against Indiana as favorites to move on with ease, having to deal with losing Damian Lillard for the remainder of the season could be a dreaded death blow nobody expected.

In positive news, with the Oklahoma City Thunder pulling a clean four-game sweep against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Cleveland Cavaliers, currently up 3-0 against the Miami Heat, could join them as the next squad to move on with zero losses in their playoff NBA games column.

Meanwhile, with the Boston Celtics leading their series against the Orlando Magic 2-1, the Denver Nuggets and LA Clippers tied at two wins each, Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors leading the Houston Rockets by 2-1 and the New York Knicks taking a 3-1 lead over the Detroit Pistons yesterday, who are you taking to move on?

Belichick’s GF Got Mad

Early Sunday morning, football fans were treated to what can easily be one of the most awkward and cringiest TV interviews in recent times, headlined by NFL coaching GOAT and current University of North Carolina HC Bill Belichick.

Belichick, the second leading coach when it comes to games won in the NFL with 333, looked like a shell of his former self, leading viewers to go through a mix of emotions, with overall concern standing out above all else.

If you ask anybody who watched the interview or has gotten the chance to glimpse at clips of it, there’s one specific moment that stands out.

When asked about how he met his current 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, tempers flared in the room as Hudson was quick to shut down the question, saying, “We’re not talking about this,” leaving Belichick to stay awkwardly silent.

I get that Belichick might not be one to spill the tea on his personal life on a day-to-day basis, but her stepping in to negate the question does leave a lot of doubt in the air about how love was born between both.

Hey Bill, seriously, if you need help, blink twice! Anyways, until next week, stay classy, peeps!
