Will Daniel Jones’ Contract With the Giants Go Down as the Worst in NFL History?
After Being Benched and Demoted to QB4, Jones Has Requested a Release From the Giants
Danny Dimes No More
Daniel Jones and the New York Giants could not let the opportunity stir up one last cup of drama in their 2024 NFL season saga pass, as it was informed earlier today that the former Duke quarterback asked for his release from the G-Men.
With a genuine desire to suit up and compete in more NFL games moving forward, Danny Dimes understood that the odds of that happening with Brian Daboll’s team were as slim as the piece of paper of the contract he signed two years ago for four years and $160 million with the Giants.

Yes, I said it right, and NFL news can back me up on this: four years and $160 million.
Now, as Giants President John Mara and Head Coach Brian Daboll prepare for life after Jones, I think it’s time we called a spade a spade and talk about just how stupid, and let me spell it out S-T-U-P-ID the Giants were in offering Jones such a deal only to see him walk away two seasons after signing.
626 days ago, the Giants signed Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160 million extension.
Since then, he’s been:

• Benched
• A scout team safety
• Granted his release pic.twitter.com/ucOJN9jki8— Front Office Sports (@FOS) November 22, 2024
$160M On A Bum But Couldn’t Spare A Dime For Saquon
Let me cut to the chase here and state the glaringly obvious. Whoever thought Jones had the chops to be New York’s next-best passer either doesn’t understand football or smokes some of that lower-than-low stuff you only get in Brownsville, Brooklyn.
I get that back in 2019 Jones was the only decent QB in that year’s draft class besides Kyler Murray, but “damn Daniel” talk about a glow down instead of a glow up after reaching Manhattan.
To this day, I can’t think of one game in which I said “damn, I’ll take the Giants as one of my NFL picks this weekend.” And in hindsight, it was always because of Jones.
What’s that now? Do you think I’m being a bit harsh? When opposing defenses feel bad for the way fans boo you, you know there’s no turning back.
Finishing his tenure with the Giants with a 22-44-1 record, with 70 touchdowns and 47 interceptions, Daniel Jones’ stats beg to ask the question: who in their right minds thought it was a good idea to offer Jones a four-year $160 million extension?
Oh yeah, General Manager Joe Schoen, the same schmuck who also thought letting Saquon Barkley test out free agency instead of paying him was a good idea.
Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen dug the team into this hole the minute they extended Daniel Jones.
If this hole ends up being their grave, then so be it. pic.twitter.com/8r7ei7LD9P

I’m not even a Giants fan but this is the kind of stuff that can make any NFL fan get pissed off.
Jerry Jones Has Entered the Chat
Now that Jones’ toxic relationship with the Giants is over, it’s time to move forward, so how about we go a little bit more toxic and paint a funny scene here? (Cue the Jersey Shore Theme Song.)
There’s a team out in Texas that just happens to share the NFC East division with the Giants and is in dire need of finding a passer to lead its offense and try to save face. Yes, Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys.
The Dallas Cowboys have an opportunity to do the funniest thing with Daniel Jones 🤌🏾

On Thanksgiving Day, the Cowboys will host the Jones-less Giants at AT&T Stadium. Keep following because here’s where it hits the fan.
What if in a classic Jerry Jones move, he decides to go on a little last-minute QB shopping spree, pay Daniel Jones’ contract for the year, pick him from waivers, and have him start against his former team next Thursday?
Furthermore, what if, after doing that, Danny Dimes goes on to beat the Giants playing for the Cowboys? That would be the ultimate Giants screwing over the Giants move ever.
Jerry Jones would make the Cowboys watchable if he signed Daniel Jones for Thanksgiving 😂

If that’s not some grade-A classic Ronny vs. Sammie kind of move, I don’t know what is. But tell me it wouldn’t be fun to watch.
