The race for the AFC East crown has been over for a while with the Buffalo Bills rolling to the division title. But Buffalo has a huge game this weekend, taking on the Detroit Lions, with the race for the top spot in the AFC playoff field still up for grabs.
Miami is still battling to get into the postseason and has a make-or-break game against the Houston Texans on Sunday. The division’s other two teams – the New York Jets and the New England Patriots – are out of playoff contentions, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have some value to bettors for NFL player props.
Read on and check out our best NFL predictions on AFC East player performances that you should be wagering on this weekend.
3 AFC East Player Prop Bets You Should Be Making
1. Bills QB Josh Allen Over 1½ Passing Touchdowns
Josh Allen has been among the top quarterbacks in the NFL for a few years now, but this season has seen him go to another level. He’s positioned himself as the betting favorite for NFL MVP, and he’s looking to take the Bills back to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 1990s.
He can help both of those causes with a win against 12-1 Detroit this week. The Lions’ defense has been decimated by injuries in recent weeks, so Allen could find things a bit easier despite Detroit’s gaudy record.
Allen is coming off one of the greatest individual performances in league history, making NFL news by throwing for 342 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 82 yards and three scores. Despite all of that, Buffalo came up short against the Los Angeles Rams, losing 44-42.
What an incredible performance by Josh Allen on Sunday! 🤯

Sunday’s game against Detroit could be the same kind of shootout. Per Bills vs Lions stats, Detroit has the league’s top-scoring offense (32.1 points per game), meaning Allen could be playing catch-up throughout the contest.
That’s the perfect conditions for Allen to throw for multiple touchdowns yet again, and we like him to get at least two scoring tosses in this one.
Bet On Josh Allen Over 1½ Passing Touchdowns (-139)
2. Patriots QB Drake Maye Over 215½ Passing Yards
There haven’t been many bright spots for the Patriots this season, but the play of rookie quarterback Drake Maye has been one. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 draft has been playing well despite his team’s lack of success in the win column.
He gets a chance to showcase his passing skills against the Arizona Cardinals in what could be a high-scoring affair in the desert. Maye has 1,696 yards in just nine games this season, going over 215 passing yards in five of the seven games he’s played from start to finish.
The Patriots want to see what they have in the rookie, but they need to be able to keep him upright against the Cardinals. Per NFL betting trends, Maye has been sacked 16 times over the last five games, including four in each of the last two.
But we like Maye to be able to pick apart the Cardinals’ defense in this one for at least 216 yards. Arizona allows 218.7 passing yards per game, and the Patriots will likely be playing from behind in this one.
When making your online sports on the NFL, take Maye to go over on his passing yards prop.
Bet On Drake Maye Over 215½ Passing Yards (-114)

3. Jets WR Davante Adams Anytime TD Scorer
Speaking of a team with few bright spots, the Jets are a great example. From being a team that was expected to be contending for the playoffs, New York has been probably the biggest disappointment in the league this season.
Even with the addition of wide receiver Davante Adams in a midseason trade, the Jets’ offense hasn’t been as potent as expected. But Adams is doing his best to change that.
He enters this week’s game with the Jacksonville Jaguars on a two-game touchdown streak, and he just had his best game as a Jet, making nine catches for 109 yards and a score in last week’s loss to Miami.
Per Jets vs Jaguars betting tips, Jacksonville is 31st in the NFL in passing yards allowed this season, with opponents averaging 263.5 yards through the air. Aaron Rodgers is certainly going to take advantage of the porous Jaguars defense, with his buddy Adams being his most-targeted receiver.
We like the chances of Adams taking a reception into the end zone at least once in this one, and you should too. Make Adams scoring at least one touchdown one of your NFL picks for a player prop and you’ll be happy come the end of Sunday’s game.
Bet on Davante Adams to Score 1+ TDs (+140)
Question of the Day
What is Davante Adams’ career high for the most receiving touchdowns in a season?
Adams caught 18 touchdown passes in 2020 while playing for the Green Bay Packers.
