If you are still making your online sportsbook bets on Barry’s Big Bet for his NFL Pick of the Week, then kudos to another win last week to go 4-1 on the year. This looks like another easy week in Week 7 NFL Odds at BetUS.com
Last week was another easy NFL bet as the Pittsburgh Steelers dominated the Cleveland Browns to cover the betting line by a huge margin. This week should be some of the same.
The Los Angeles Chargers are playing host to the Jacksonville Jaguar with LA #15 and Jacksonville #29 in my Week 7 NFL Power Rankings. The Chargers are coming off a bye week, and the Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off a total beat down at the hands of the Detroit Lions 34-16.
Jacksonville comes into this NFL game 0-3 on the road and the Chargers have lost four straight games unbelievably, and are 0-2 in home games. That is probably because the team doesn’t consider that home, and wants to go back to San Diego, where they had a chance to pay off your Super Bowl Odds bets. That is not happening this year.
The Jaguars looked horrible last week and the problem with them is that it’s hard to see how they are going to get any offense going week to week, especially against the Chargers.
The Jaguars’ Gardner Minshew has shown some life and some weeks looks like a solid quarterback. The problem is he really only has one consistently good receiver this year in Keelan Cole. DJ Chark, shark, shark, shark, shark, shark, shark has gone MIA … even when he wasn’t injured.
Jacksonville’s rookie running back James Robinson is a good one. Last week was not a good one for him as he showed signs of a rookie getting beat up too much. That first year, week-to-week is something brand new in getting pummeled, and he is already showing signs of breaking down from wear. The good news is they have a bye next week to rest, recover and drink!
The Jaguars have lost five straight and given up 30 plus points in all of them. This is the first time in franchise history the defense has been that bad, which isn’t surprising with their many years of being known for that tough D.
It’s not as if the Jaguars’defense was supposed to be great but the many players that are either questionable, doubtful or hurt make them weaker. They are in a horrible position to win this game which makes Barry’s Big Bet for NFL Pick of the Week 7 a bit stronger.
Minshew is the only real light for Jacksonville, but it isn’t that bright. The NFL team statistics in rushing and passing on offense and defense show the Jags only ranked in the top half of the NFL in one category, offensive passing.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have lost four games by a total of 18 points this season, which sounds familiar to the way they did last year when Philip Rivers was the quarterback. The Chargers always seem to be a team that will be ahead early and either lose or squeaks out a win.
They have been mostly losing late in the game the last two years and blowing what would have been wins in sportsbook betting lines. This appears to be the right week to use the Chargers in your NFL Pick of the Week after this bye week, and a big win by double digits appears to be in the cards.
The Chargers are looking strong on offense with QB Justin Herbert playing like a real starting quarterback. He’s one guy that might not be a bad choice to bet on sportsbook odds at BetUS.com for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Herbert has been a great leader and the running game has held up after Austin Ekeler was injured. Ekeler is on IR and the duo of Joshua Kelly and Justin Jackson have done a decent job in his place. The back that looks the best and is seeing his share go up weekly is Jackson in a trend that should continue.
The Chargers should be able to move the ball easily on Jacksonville, which has a problem moving or scoring at all. Herbert and the above-average running game with Jackson should put this game close to in hand by halftime. They won’t allow the Jaguars to get back in the game.
The defense on the Chargers should bottle up the Jags. Jacksonville shouldn’t get much done except for some passing by Minshew, which is expected.
The Chargers’ defensive statistics do not look as good as the team appears when you watch them. Their habit in the past to lay down in the second half will not happen in this one. Their rankings on defense from here going forward almost every week should improve, and you heard it here. Chargers in a blowout!
Barry’s Big Bet – Pick of the Week 7
The Los Angeles Chargers should win this game easily against the Jacksonville Jaguars and cover the 7.5 point NFL betting spread in a double digit win.
