Barry’s Big Bet – Pick of the Week 13

Week 13 Betting Pick

I am a dude that owns up to his mistakes and takes responsibility, so it is my fault that Barry’s Big Bet in Week 12 for the NFL Pick of the Week lost.

The Cleveland Browns were still an excellent pick to dominate the Jacksonville Jaguars, and they definitely did enough to not only win but cover the spread by a bunch if it weren’t for the overrated Baker Mayfield. He had two TD passes and should have had two more. Do Not bet the Browns to win

Mayfield made big mistakes at important times or the Jaguars would have never had a chance to win, much less cover the BetUS sportsbook odds. Baker missed in the endzone and on key third and fourth downs that were our downfall, but now we’re back to winning this week.

Onward and Upward with Points

In the game I have chosen for Barry’s Big Bet, I am probably not going where you think I’m going when you know the game is the Raiders at the Jets. This NFL Pick of the Week will be the first one this year that is an NFL bet on an over/under total instead of an aside. This is a game with two horrible defenses that also have decent receivers to take advantage of the situation.

Remember that the recommended play is not to bet the Jets on Super Bowl Odds at BetUS.com or even to cover the betting point spread in this game. It is simply to bet both of these teams to combine for a big total of points, OVER 46\½ to be exact.

Week 13 NFL Odds at BetUS

Las Vegas Raiders (6-5) -8 at New York Jets (0-11).

Over/Under Total 46½.

Las Vegas Raiders’ Pride

The Raiders are coming off an embarrassing pulverization by the Atlanta Falcons 43 to 6, and you can bet Jon Gruden will have that team ready to fly and to do whatever they have to for a win. They are still very much in the NFL Playoffs race and don’t count them out for your futures bets like AFC Conference Odds at 30/1 at BetUS.

The Raiders Derek Carr had the worst game of the year by far last week with four turnovers that cost them the game. You can bet whatever focus was lacking last will be on laser if possible because otherwise, Gruden will kick him to the curb.

Las Vegas will be on a mission to regain the focus this week to get them back where they were before last week’s no-show. Hell, they almost beat the Kansas City Chiefs the week before for the season sweep of the number 1 team all year in our NFL Power Rankings Week 13. This is not a bad team.

Worst Defenses Make Them Look Like The Best Offenses

Las Vegas does have a horrible defense though and some have even called them out as the worst but that is overkill. They just suck, but they are not as bad as the Jets even though this week it is close with all the Raiders’ injuries. Barry’s Big Bet should be your NFL Pick of the Week in all your NFL Parlays, Teasers, and everything. This is a good one!

The Jets are known to have a horrible defense and a horrible offense, so there’s nothing that we don’t know there. There are two things to take from this, and first is on the defensive side of the Raiders. With the injuries, they will be very vulnerable to the pass which could even make Sam Darnold look good. C’mon people – they were hideous without the injuries and giving up points like a banshee before.

Injuries Are Bugs

On defense, the Raiders will be without SS Johnathan Abram, DT Maliek Collins with CBs Trayvon Mullen, and Isaiah missing Friday’s practice and questionable. This makes a really bad defense even worse with all the holes in the cheese.

On offense, the Jets obviously have one of the worst if not the worst defenses in the NFL. This is a team that you can go bombs away on offense against and I expect the Raiders to do just that. I’ve heard some describe Jets have a past funnel, but I wouldn’t go that far because I think you can run and pass against this bottom-barrel team.

The injury to the Raiders’ top running back Josh Jacobs is not as bad as it seems, because behind him he has two credible running backs for running and receiving out of the backfield with Devontae Booker and Jalen Richard.

Respect Something in Your Life

The Jets actually have a respectable receiving corps with Jamison Crowder and the two latest performers Denzel Mims and Breshad Perriman stepping up to give the defenses something to think of besides just Crowder like in the past. The performances of Mims and Perriman should enable this to be a blowup game for Crowder.

This total seems way low at 46½ which means it may have lowered a bit not only because of last week’s total of three points scored by Las Vegas and six points scored by New Yuck! Well, good for us because these teams have the ability to score and the Raiders may get close to the total alone.

The Pick of the Week

Fire on the Over 46½ points in the Las Vegas Raiders at New York Jets game, because this game is going plenty over that. Even with Adam Gase calling plays the Jets will score something here.

Prediction: Las Vegas Raiders 35, New York Jets 23
