CFL Odds are Slightly Against Visiting Lions
The Toronto Argonauts welcome the BC Lions back to BMO Field. The CFL football odds slightly lean towards them as the home team. Toronto is coming from a loss against Calgary, the last team to beat the Lions as well. The Lions have one of the best records as a road team: 5-1 on both the money line and the spread, while the Argos have yet to beat one of the West’s three best teams.
Let’s check the latest CFL odds, stats, injury reports, and CFL lines for BC Lions vs Toronto Argonauts. We’ve plenty of CFL betting odds for you to consider.
Lions Seek First Consecutive Win Since Rourke
It may have come against the CFL’s worst team, but Vernon Adams Jr. had his best game as a Lion. The veteran quarterback, who the Lions acquired from Montreal, completed 17-of-22 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns. With the win, the Lions improve to 2-2 under Adams as the quarterback. His progression is a great sign.
“I thought he was a spark plug,” Lions head coach Rick Campbell said of Adams’s performance. “I like that he used his legs some, too.”
Defensively, the Lions have been solid. They are third in the CFL in points allowed on average (22.3) and lead the league in opponents’ second-down conversion rate (42.4 percent) and opponents’ yards-per-play (6.2). So getting good quarterback play can only help the defense and the team when betting online.
Toronto Gets One Last Crack at West’s Best
The Argonauts are tentatively the best team in the East. However, they remain a distant runner-up to the three best teams in the West. Toronto is 0-4 against Winnipeg, Calgary, and BC. They were smoked by the Lions in Week 2. Since that game, Toronto has improved significantly on the defensive end.
Toronto has the second-most forced turnovers (39) and is in the top three in opponents’ second-down conversion rate (44.2 percent) and touchdowns allowed (28). The issue with Toronto is its offense. We talked about how an efficient offense is a boon to the defense. But it’s a detriment when it isn’t.
The Argos are last in the CFL in average possession time (28:42) and second-last in average yards per play (5.9) and average first-down yards (5.9). This means that McLeod Bethel-Thompson and co. are still struggling to generate consistent offense. Unless they can, Toronto will have a tough time beating the best.

BC Lions vs Toronto Argonauts Prediction
This is almost like a mirror match. We have two teams with good defenses but questionable offenses. It’s a matter of which quarterback can outperform the other: Adams or Bethel-Thompson? While Adams can be shaky, Bethel-Thompson is not the guy we’d back on the online gambling odds.
Bethel-Thompson is tied for the most interceptions (14) – something he’s done in six straight games. The Argonauts’ defense may be slightly better at forcing turnovers, but the Lions’ is more consistent at forcing stops. Back the more stable team in BC, especially at their current betting lines.
