Bears Solid Pick at Home to End Hex vs Packers
A new saga in a longstanding rivalry will begin in Week 1 when the Green Bay Packers open their season on the road against the Chicago Bears. The Packers have had the upper hand in the rivalry recently under quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ leadership, but with new QB Jordan Love ushering in a new era for Green Bay, Bears fans are hoping they’ll regain control beginning on Sunday.
With two young quarterbacks, it’s sure to be an exciting one and the first meeting could go either way as NFL odds doesn’t favor either team in the Week 1 matchup. The Packers have won the last eight meetings against their NFC North rivals.
Uncertainty in Green Bay
The Green Bay Packers had a promising preseason, finishing 2-1 and as one of the highest-graded teams, but they’ll now have to translate that to the regular season.
Love offered optimism in his three preseason starts, looking efficient and ready to take over as the starter after going 21 of 33 for 183 yards and three touchdowns. However, Love could be without his top two targets wide receivers Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, who are both currently not practicing with hamstring injuries after catching two of Love’s three touchdowns.
Watson and Doubs both figure to be Love’s go-to targets and key playmakers this season, but with both their statuses up in the air, bettors may want to wait to see who plays before making use of NFL live betting odds.
Fields’ Legs an Edge for Bears
Not only do the Chicago Bears get to start out the season at home, but they go into the season with more optimism after the strong play of quarterback Justin Fields last season as well as a more solid receiving core.
Fields showed improvement last season, throwing for 2,242 yards, 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. However, his rushing ability caused issues for opponents as well – he rushed for 1,143 yards and eight scores.
JUSTIN FIELDS. INCREDIBLE RUN.

With Chicago also trading its No. 1 overall draft pick for wide receiver D.J. Moore, who recorded 63 receptions for 888 yards and seven touchdowns last season in Carolina, the Bears’ receiving room also got an upgrade.
Though the Packers have dominated Chicago many times recently, the improvement to the Bears’ offense should keep Green Bay’s defense on its toes.
Packers vs Bears Head-to-Head Favors Green Bay
Green Bay and Chicago have met 204 times in the regular season, with the Packers now leading the series 104-94-6 after they won the last eight games.

Packers vs Bears Best Bet
The first meeting of the season and first matchup between quarterbacks Jordan Love and Justin Fields should be an exciting one in the heated Green Bay-Chicago rivalry, as NFL predictions have the game rated nearly even.
Sunday’s game should be Chicago’s chance to put an end to an eight-game losing streak as the Packers have lost their last two season openers and begin a new era with Love at the helm. He could be without his two top targets as well. Pair that with Love starting out in what is sure to be an unfavorable environment at Soldier Field, and the Bears are likely to have the upper hand in Week 1.
With a small one-point edge given to the Bears at home and Chicago looking to finally get some revenge with Aaron Rodgers now out of the picture, expect the Bears to cover.
Pick: Chicago Bears -1 (-110)
