Bears at Panthers: Week 6 Betting Predictions

The 4-1 Chicago Bears take on the 3-2 Carolina Panthers Sunday in an NFC matchup. Chicago picked up an impressive win over the Buccaneers in Week 5, while the Panthers have won three straight.

This game will affect the playoff race in the NFC as both are currently on the hunt. Both teams have new quarterbacks and feature strong defensive units. Let’s take a closer look at the Bears vs Panthers matchup.

NFL Betting Lines

Team Point Spread Moneyline Over/Under Team Total
Bears +1½ 44½ 21½
Panthers -1½ 44½ 23

Moneyline: Bears | Cardinals

Carolina comes into this game with plenty of momentum but the Panthers are still without Christian McCaffrey. The offense will likely struggle against the vaunted Bears defense.

Chicago was able to shut down Tom Brady and the Bucs’ offense in Week 5, and it can do the same in this game. The Bears will manage enough offense to win.

Pick: Bears to Win

Point Spread: Panthers -1½

The oddsmakers say the Panthers are the favorite but the Bears are the better team. Chicago is getting 1½ points but the Bears won’t need it. Carolina will see its three-game winning streak end.

Pick: Bears +1½

Over/Under: 44½ points

This game will feature two of the top 10 defenses in the league and should be a low-scoring affair. Carolina has shown the ability to score in a hurry but the Bears simply can’t win that way. Look for the Bears to try to chew up the clock in this game and let their defense do the hard work.

Pick: Under 44½

Final Score: Chicago 24, Carolina 14

Props Talk for Bears at Panthers

Defense will dominate, which creates some unique prop betting opportunities. The Bears have not been able to establish the run but the team can win games with Khalil Mack & Co. Carolina has been scoring points, but that won’t happen as easily against a solid Bears defense.

Let’s take a look at what we have for prop bets for the game:

A Team to Score 3 Unanswered Times: No +165

Even though the Bears should come away with a relatively comfortable win, the game will stay within 10 points much of the time. The Bears don’t have an offense capable of scoring a ton of points, and the Chicago defense will prevent the Panthers from scoring three straight times.

Total TDs in the Game: Under 4.5 +110

This prop bet seems like a lock because there are not going to be many touchdowns in this game. The winning team will likely be the team that is able to find the end zone twice total, and there will be less than four total touchdowns scored.

Will There Be a Defensive or Special Teams TD? Yes +225

It’s always wise to take some risks when placing a prop bet, and this is the right time to do it. The Bears have the ability to score a defensive touchdown on every series, and they also feature a terrific return man.

If there is a defensive touchdown scored in this game, then expect it to come on a pick-six, as both quarterbacks have been shaky with the ball. Chicago is going to score a defensive touchdown soon, and we’re betting it will happen on Sunday.
