Bet On Dolphins at Bills: Expert NFL Prediction
Kick-off the New Year with some quality online sports betting action, as regular-season NFL betting enters its final week. The Buffalo Bills (12-3) have won the AFC East, but are still in contention with Pittsburgh for the second seed. With the Steelers resting several players, the Bills may do the same vs the Miami Dolphins (10-5).
Due to this caveat, the current NFL odds on our sportsbook show the Bills as only two-point favorites at home. If the Dolphins win in Buffalo, they’re in the postseason. However, if Miami loses and Indianapolis, Baltimore, and Cleveland all win, the Fins are eliminated entirely from the playoff picture.

This game is of paramount importance to the Dolphins, make no mistake about it. Miami is alive right now due to QB Ryan Fitzpatrick’s magical comeback against Las Vegas last Saturday. Fitzmagic relieved an ineffective Tua Tagovailoa, connecting on 9-of-13 passes for 182 yards and touchdown.
Tagovailoa will start vs Buffalo, and Fitzpatrick is unavailable after testing positive for COVID-19. Miami’s receivers are pretty banged up, but the return of TE Mike Gesicki and RB Myles Gaskin paid immediate dividends. Sparky WR Cole Beasley (knee) is out for the Bills. This will be a tightly contested matchup right until the end.

NFL Betting Lines
Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Over/Under | Team Total |
Dolphins | +2 | +120 | 42 | 20 |
Bills | -2 | -140 | 42 | 21 ½ |
Moneyline: Dolphins +120 (10-5) | Bills -140 (12-3)
The Dolphins have a modest two-game winning streak that was founded on a Fitzpatrick miracle drive last week vs Vegas. Fitzpatrick is unavailable, and this puts a mountain of pressure on Tagovailoa. The Bills have won five straight and are averaging 34.6 PPG during their current winning streak. Buffalo circles the wagons to close out the 2020 regular season with a victory.
Pick: Bills to win
Point Spread: Dolphins +2 (11-4) | Bills -2 (10-5)
The Dolphins are 4-0 ATS in their previous four vs the AFC East, but instability at quarterback will bite them. The Bills are 7-0 ATS over their last seven and can manage without their star slot receiver Cole Beasley. This is a tough call, but I’m banking on Buffalo to keep momentum on its side heading into the playoffs.
Pick: Bills -2
Over/Under 42 points: Dolphins (6-9) | Bills (9-5-1)
The Bills are averaging almost 35 PPG over their previous five contests, and they’ll score points despite the predicted snowfall. The Dolphins will move the ball and splash the scoreboard as well, as this game becomes a high-profile snowball fight. Tagovailoa holds his own but ultimately falls short of securing a playoff spot for the Fins in Buffalo.
Pick: Over 42 total points
Prediction: Bills 27, Dolphins 24

The full sports betting spectrum can only be accessed when you pick a few props! Hedge your standard football wagers with these sidewinders, exponentially adding to the fun factor. Here are some prop bets to think about for the Dolphins vs Bills matchup that we’re all getting so excited about.
Under 3½ FGs Scored In The Game (-180)
You pay a premium at -180, but snow on the field translates to the kicking game taking an automatic hit. We’ll see a lot of sloshy ground and pound action in Buffalo this Sunday, with kicks held to a minimum. Pay $18 to win $10 on this high-probability bet.
Over 4 ½ Total TDs In The Game (-130)
Expect the Fins and Bills to duke it out in the snow-topped trenches, scoring on the ground with slow regularity. Buffalo and Miami should combine for five touchdowns minimum here, with at least four TDs coming via the run. These teams can score.
Will The Game Go To Overtime? Yes (+850)
This tense battle between bitter rivals will require overtime to decide the outcome. We can expect the Dolphins to fight and claw for their survival, giving it their all. Miami won’t go down easily, and Buffalo won’t concede the victory. A $10 investment earns you $85 when this AFC East showdown heads to a fifth frame. Not a bad payout, right?!
