They play every four years, but the sportsbook lines the Cleveland Browns as the sports betting favorite over a team they’ve never beaten in their modern incarnation. We break down the NFL betting odds for this Sunday’s matchup in Philadelphia and give you our Eagles vs Browns Week 11 betting picks.
|Game: Philadelphia Eagles (3-5-1) at Cleveland Browns (6-3)
Location: FirstEnergy Stadium
Time: 1 p.m. ET
Sharpies and wiseguys were all over the Philadelphia Eagles in last week’s NFL matchup. Returning a number of offensive starters, markets took the Eagles from a three-point favorite to a close of -5. They also bought the total from 44 to 46. In the end, none of them were happy with the 27-17 final in favor of the New York Giants.
The Browns played host to the Houston Texans last week in a memorable game for all those who steamed Cleveland from the open of -2½ all the way to -4 at close. The memorable play in this NFL Week 10 matchup came with 1:07 left. Up 10-7, the Browns’ Nick Chubb broke a run to the left with nothing but real estate in front of him. The playbook put it best: “N Chubb left end ran ob at HST 1 for 59 yards”.
Chubb hooked out of bounds, allowing Cleveland to kill the clock and end the game, giving the Texans the cover (or at best a push) for most Browns’ bettors.
The Browns received jarring news Friday when star defensive lineman Myles Garrett was declared out after a positive COVID-19 test,
Eagles vs Browns Week 11 Betting Picks: NFL Betting Lines
Moneyline: Philadelphia Eagles +135 (3-5-1) | Cleveland Browns -155 (6-3)
Oddsmakers installed the Browns as three-point favorites, and some support came at first for the underdog Eagles. Maybe as a continuation of support from last week, when the Eagles returned a bunch of offensive starters (perhaps prematurely), there’s an expectation Philly’s offense will improve. In Covid-19 NFL news, for now, they’re under threat of an outbreak and have lost at least WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside to the COVID-IR for this week.
The Browns on the other hand seem to be on track with returning some of their roster from the Covid list, namely Myles Garrett. We’ll take the Browns to win here but might hope a better moneyline price comes with more market support for the Eagles.
Pick: Cleveland to win
Point Spread: Philadelphia Eagles +3 (3-6) | Cleveland Browns -3 (3-6)
Same thinking here for the spread, since laying 2½ is much better than three, but we don’t expect it would last long if/when it appears. If Myles Garrett and OLB Mack Wilson are able to play, laying the three would be easier.
Pick: Cleveland -3
Over/Under 47½ points
The total bounced between 45½ and 47½ since it opened, now at its peak. The weather promises to be wet and a bit windy on Sunday, but we’re forecasting heavy doses of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. For that, play the under at this key number.
