Bet Texans To Cover vs Ravens

The young stars for the Houston Texans showed no signs of playoff jitters in eliminating the Cleveland Browns. Will things be different when they head to Baltimore to meet up with the top-seeded Ravens? The NFL betting lines have Baltimore as the nine-point favorite on Saturday.

The teams met during the regular season opener with host Baltimore rolling to a 25-9 win as a 9½-point favorite. It was Baltimore’s fourth win in a row against the Texans. The teams have never met in the playoffs.

Take A Look At These Other 2 NFL Special Articles

Over/Under Pick: Over 43½ (-110)

Don’t expect to see Houston return two touchdowns for interceptions as was the case in the playoff opener against Cleveland. The Baltimore defense should make Houston’s dynamic rookie more uncomfortable in the pocket than Cleveland did.

This doesn’t feel like a game that is going to see teams racing up and down the field. However, the total is set pretty low at 43½ so for those inclined to look at the totals when it comes time to bet online would be smart to go with the game landing over the total.

Against the Spread Pick: Houston Texans +9½ (-110)

Baltimore is looking like a solid best bet to take care of business as the home team and the top seed in the AFC. However, the Ravens might need to shake some rust off and the Texans are loaded with rookies in key spots on both sides of the ball.

Both teams were held under 270 yards of total offense so the Texans shouldn’t be overwhelmed at the prospect of facing the Ravens in Baltimore. That is something to consider when looking at projected NFL scores.

Houston offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, Baltimore safety Kyle Hamilton, offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler, receiver Zay Flowers, tight end Mark Andrews, cornerback Marlon Humphrey, and linebacker Malik Harrison are among the players listed as questionable for the game. There has been mostly good news for both teams in the injury department as the game approaches.

Keep an eye on Andrews’ status. His window to come off injured reserve has begun and he has practiced in a limited capacity this week. His return could impact the point spread as he is a favorite target of quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Player Prop Pick: Ravens TE Dalton Schultz To Have 37+ Receiving Yards (-115)

There were more than a few raised eyebrows when veteran tight end Dalton Schultz left a Dallas team that was viewed to be a Super Bowl contender for a Houston squad in full rebuild mode.

Well, the Cowboys have been eliminated from the postseason while Houston is among the eight teams remaining in the race for the Super Bowl.

Schultz had one catch for 37 yards against Cleveland last week. He went over 40 receiving yards in five of his last seven games in the regular season and could be a bigger part of the passing game against Baltimore, especially if safety Kyle Hamilton is limited.
