Betting online markets corner this game with the hosts, but the Bills are attracting a lot of attention in early betting. Does the market or the public have it right? Let’s check the latest news, stats, injury reports, and NFL betting lines for Bills vs Chiefs. We’ve got plenty of NFL predictions for you to consider.
Bills vs Chiefs AFC Divisional Round Game
Highmark Stadium was hopping last Saturday as the Buffalo Bills dismantled the New England Patriots 47-17. BetUS sportsbook closed the Bills as the 4½-point home chalk, but the 30-point margin of victory blew that point spread off the NFL odds board.
Josh Allen had a monster game, dropping five touchdowns as he completed 21 of 25 passes and threw for 308 yards. He also made plays with his legs, muscling his way up 66 yards on six carries. Allen wasn’t the only star on the night. Devin Singletary rushed for two scores and 81 yards on 16 carries and five different receivers connected with Allen for touchdowns. Allen’s BFF, Stefon Diggs, had a quiet night, though, with just three receptions for 60 yards and no touchdowns.

In winning, the Bills improved to 12-6 and 10-6-2 against the spread (ATS) with a 12.4 winning margin on average. By the latest reporting, the Bills don’t have many injuries to contend with. Defensive end Efe Obada (ankle) and defensive end Mario Anderson (ankle) are the only question marks for coach Sean McDermott. An updated injury list should be made available on Friday, so it will be important to look it up at that time.
Will the Real Chiefs Please Stand Up!
If there’s been one knockback on the Kansas City Chiefs this season, it’s the uncharacteristic struggles on the offensive side of the ball. At one point, things were looking rather dire by their lofty standards until they started to turn things around, largely due to the efforts of the defense.
Whatever the offensive ails might have been during the course of Kansas City’s patchy 2021 campaign, however, went out of the window in the Wild Card round. The Chiefs offense lit up and decimated the Pittsburgh Steelers 42-21. The Chiefs closed as the whopping 11½-point home favorites, but despite the size of the point spread, they smashed it nonetheless.
Patrick Mahomes trucked five touchdowns and Travis Kelce added a sixth passing touchdown to complete one of the best performances by the Chiefs this season. The defense was resolute, holding the Steelers to seven points for the better part of the first three quarters.
In winning, the Chiefs improved to a 13-5. They’re also 9-9-0 ATS with a 7.6 winning margin on average. As far as injuries go, the Chiefs have reported a few key names. Tackle Prince Tega Wanogho (ribs), linebacker Anthony Hitchens (back), linebacker Willie Gay (personal) and defensive back L’Jarius Sneed (knee) are listed as questionable. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill (heel), running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder), cornerback Rashad Fenton (back) and, running back Darrel Williams (toe) are expected to play.
Bills vs Chiefs Head to Head
The Bills lead the lifetime series 27-23-1. Since the Mahomes era began in 2018, however, the Bills are 1-2 against the Chiefs – a run of form that includes a 38-24 loss in the AFC Championship Game last season. The 38-20 win at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 5 marked the first win by Allen and the Bills against Mahomes.

Bills vs Chiefs Odds & Betting Lines
The market for this game has been hopping on the odds board ever since it went to press. Initially, the game line opened with the Chiefs at -2½, but that didn’t last long. The line dropped down to -2 almost instantly. By midweek, it dipped below two points before climbing back up again to -2 on Friday.
Similarly, the game total opened on 52 points before jumping out to 54 points. In keeping with the close nature of the point spread, the moneyline odds are tighter than an accountant’s wallet. The Bills are priced at +110 while the Chiefs are tipped as the -130 favorites.
Bills vs Chiefs Prediction
As things currently stand, the Bills appear to be the flavor of the week – everybody and their grandmother is high on Buffalo for NFL picks against the spread. And yet, there’s an uncertainty about the Bills, who got fat this season by beating up on inferior opponents mainly. Aside from the noteworthy win over the Chiefs, they haven’t been challenged.
The playoffs are a different beast. Consider the sheer magnitude of the pressure on the Bills to make good on the hype, potential and promise they’ve shown these past few seasons. By contrast, the Chiefs have been there and done that, and that experience is an intangible that gives them the edge. This will be the biggest test for the Bills this season, and one that they might not pass.
The Chiefs as the 2-point home chalk are the choice bet here, especially since the line has dropped from an initial serving of 2½ points. That’s a steal bet if ever there was one. Should the line go up by half a point, the Chiefs would still be a good play. Should the line move against the Chiefs, and drop down to a point or less, well, that’s a no-brainer.
