NFL Bills vs Jets Betting Lines

Moneyline: Bills -590 | Jets +440

The Buffalo Bills are on a two-game losing streak. However, not all two-game losing streaks are created equal, and it’s a plain reality that the Bills’ losses came to the teams that met in last season’s AFC Championship Game, the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs. The Titans are one of the three unbeaten teams left in the NFL after Week 6, and the Chiefs are 5-1, a contender for the Super Bowl.

Here is a look at the latest Super Bowl Odds

Some people are jumping ship with the Bills in terms of regarding them as a title contender, and to be sure, they’re a notch below the Titans and Chiefs at this point. However, being a notch below the Titans and Chiefs doesn’t mark a team as a bad team. If you want to know what a bad team looks like, you have to look at the Jets, who were shut out by the Miami Dolphins and are the NFL’s only remaining winless team, having released running back Le’Veon Bell.

The Bills aren’t going to lose three in a row, and they aren’t going to lose to the Jets, a team they beat comfortably in Week 1. The Bills are the play for the moneyline in terms of the online betting odds.

Pick: Bills to win

Point Spread: Bills -13.5

The Bills are angry and frustrated. They didn’t play well against the Titans in a rare Tuesday game due to Covid-19-based rescheduling. Then their offense bogged down against the Chiefs in rainy conditions on a Monday afternoon in Buffalo. Given how absolutely terrible the Jets are, and given how the Jets have low morale in their locker room due to the controversies enveloping the organization, it’s a good spot for the Bills to vent their frustrations and take them out on the Jets. This one is going to get ugly for New York.

Pick: Bills to cover

Over/Under: 45.5 points

The inability of the Jets’ offense to score – a total of 10 points combined in the last two games – points to a low score for the home team. The Bills might score 35 points to threaten the over, but if they’re going to score 35 points, they can’t make mistakes. Given how inconsistent this unit has been, it might be asking a little too much to expect Buffalo to score North of 34 points. Go under in the sportsbook.

Pick: Under 45.5

Final Score: BUF 30, NYJ 9

Props Talk for Bills at Jets

There are a few select props to consider in terms of the NFL odds. Let’s take three of them:

First Scoring Play: Bills TD +125

The Bills are not just a better team, they’re a motivated team intent on avoiding a three-game losing skid. Buffalo should come out swinging, and with the Jets being impotent on offense, it’s hard to think New York will score first in any circumstance. This comes down to a choice between Bill’s field goal and a Bills touchdown. Buffalo is intent on proving a point, so a touchdown is a slightly better choice.

Team To Score Longest TD In-Game – Bills at -250

The Bills are the better choice for a lot of the same reasons a Bills TD is the best choice for a first scoring play. The better team and the more motivated team, with a much more powerful offense, figures to score the longer touchdown.

The Jets have dinked and dunked the ball with a lot of short passes under backup quarterback Joe Flacco, showing no threat whatsoever of pushing the ball down the field with vertical strikes. The Bills are far more likely to get a huge play, most likely with receiver Stefon Diggs on a deep ball.

Shortest TD Over-Under 1.5 yards: Over -110

The Jets’ inability to score points the past few weeks makes them unlikely to score more than one touchdown. The Bills’ superiority over the Jets would suggest that they can make big plays and won’t have to worry about punching the ball in from the one-yard line after failing on other goal-to-go plays. The over is the smart play here.
