Lions Favored Against Resting Bombers
The British Columbia (BC) Lions have clinched a playoff spot. But tied with the Calgary Stampeders, this team is still playing to get the home-field advantage This gives the Lions more to play for than their opponents, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, who have already clinched the best record in the CFL. As such, the CFL football odds favor BC.

Will the Backup Bombers Get it Done?
This is a similar situation for Winnipeg. Last season, the Bombers had also clinched the top spot in the CFL heading to the final two weeks. So the team did what was expected: rest its starters including quarterback Zach Collaros. Winnipeg then dropped its final two games of the regular season — both of them on the road.
Heading to Vancouver, the Bombers will also be resting Collaros. The team will turn to Dru Brown, their sophomore quarterback. Brown has completed five of his seven passes for two 127 yards and two touchdowns. He also played in Winnipeg’s final regular season game last year.
Other than Collaros, Winnipeg is also reportedly resting other starters. Overall, expect Winnipeg to roll out a team composed mainly of backups. In spite of that, this team is just barely an underdog thus attesting the depth of Mike O’Shea’s squad. They may still be worth betting on online.
Lions In A Race With Stampeders
The Lions, on the other hand, cannot rest. The team is deadlocked with Calgary in the race for the higher seed. This will be BC’s final home game and that may be to its advantage. Against the spread (ATS), the Lions are just 4-4 at home but 5-2 on the road. BC has lost two of its last three in Vancouver.
Vernon Adams has done a decent job at keeping the Lions competitive as it awaits Nathan Rourke’s return. Adams threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns in BC’s loss against Toronto last week. This team has gone 2-4 since Rourke got hurt in Week 11 against Saskatchewan.

The Lions’ defense has remained steadfast. It ranks third in points allowed per game (22.3) and leads the league in yards allowed (326.4) and opponent second-down conversion rate (42.1 percent). If this unit can remain this strong, the Lions will be a sharp bet on the outright CFL odds via the online sportsbook.
Blue Bombers vs Lions Head-to-Head
The Bombers have dominated the Lions in recent meetings. Winnipeg has won and covered five straight times and is 7-1 ATS in its last eight games in British Columbia. The Lions are just 2-4 ATS in its last six games. The total has gone under in five of BC’s last seven games.

Blue Bombers vs Lions Prediction
Never underestimate the Bombers. They may be rolling out the second unit, but this team has been a tier above everyone since the start of the season. Credit that to O’Shea and the defense. But without Collaros, the Bombers are not as prolific. The 34-year-old has set career-high stats this season. He should win another Most Outstanding Player award.
The Lions will have the edge at quarterback as Adams is beginning to become confident with the offense. And on defense, BC should be able to limit what Winnipeg does. Lay the points on the Lions with pride.
