The Buccaneers looked like a team on a mission last week. They were well-rested, sharp and easily covered the NFL spread as a road favorite.
You would not expect them to take the Panthers lightly after watching Carolina nearly knock off the Chiefs last week. A victory could put Tampa Bay back into a first-place tie in the NFC South if Atlanta loses to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Baker Mayfield did not have a TD pass last week, but he has been efficient all season (71.4 percent completion rate). He has All-Pro Mike Evans (six TD receptions) back in the lineup as well, along with a vastly improved ground attack.
Bucky Irving (580 yards, five TDs) has taken on a lead role in the three-pronged backfield with Rachaad White and Sean Tucker. Expect them to be prominent again because Carolina is last in the league in rushing defense.

Carolina has certainly played better football the last three weeks, but the Panthers could have lost the two games they won.
New Orleans allowed the winning touchdown with 2:18 left as Carolina earned a 23-22 triumph and the Panthers edged the Giants 20-17 in overtime three weeks ago in Germany
Bryce Young has shown some improvement at quarterback with five TD passes and three interceptions since returning to the lineup. Young was 21-of-35 for 263 yards and a scoring strike versus Kansas City.

However, Young will likely be under a lot of pressure on Sunday. The Bucs had four sacks last week in New York. Much will depend on whether the Panthers can get something out of top running back Chuba Hubbard (876 yards, seven TDs).
