Chiefs Cruise to ATS Cover vs Bears
Before the season started, the Chicago Bears (0-2) against the Kansas City Chiefs (1-1) looked like one of the most intriguing Week 3 matchups. The Bears were drawing hype and were one of the popular choices among NFL expert picks to win the NFC North. The Chiefs are always relevant as Super Bowl contenders.
However, Chicago has not improved. The Bears could be worse than last season. The defense is still hard to watch, and the run game has not been nearly as effective. Meanwhile, Kansas City could be rounding into form following Week 2’s 17-9 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Are the Bears in store for another lopsided loss? Check out our free NFL picks for this matchup.
Chiefs’ Offense Licking Chops Against Susceptible Defense
Chicago is a complete mess. It was bad enough following two weeks of play, but it got worse. Defensive coordinator Alan Williams resigned on Wednesday.

For most Bears fans, it could be good riddance. Williams has not performed well since landing the job in 2022. Chicago ranked last in allowed points per game last season.
Will the change fix anything, though? The Bears’ defense ranks 31st in allowed points per game and 29th in allowed yards per game. The defensive line has a clear lack of talent, and the secondary ranks 31st in allowed yards per passing attempt.
Facing the Chiefs in Week 3 is not ideal timing, to say the least. The defense is a complete mess and in turmoil following Williams’ resignation. Now, go face one of football’s brightest offensive minds ever, Andy Reid. Put two and two together. Kansas City could put up 40 points this week. Yes, it could get that bad.
The Chiefs’ offense should roll. The over looks like one of the best NFL picks this week.
- NFL Pick: Over 47 (-110)
Will Kansas City Dominate?
Our NFL picks against the spread won’t be a surprise either. Kansas City is favored by 13 points, which is currently the largest spread of the week. Backing any NFL team to cover a two-score spread is a risky bet. NFL lines have the Chiefs tied as the favorite to win Super Bowl 58 (+700), and Chicago’s coach Matt Eberflus is the favorite to be the first coach fired this season (+200).
According to Las Vegas NFL odds, the Bears’ projected win total has dropped to 5½. Look for the defending Super Bowl champions to cruise to a win and cover.
As mentioned, Kansas City’s offense has a clear advantage. Chicago is 27th in allowed passing yards per game. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes found his footing in Week 2, posting 305 yards and two touchdowns with a 98.1 passer rating. He also hit multiple explosive plays, including a 54-yard strike to wide receiver Skyy Moore.

The Chiefs’ defense has also played well, ranking third in allowed points per game. Per ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky, Chicago had at least one sack or penalty in 14 of 22 drives through two games. The play-calling has been vanilla, and quarterback Justin Fields has struggled as a passer.
Don’t overthink this one. Kansas City should dominate.
