The Cincinnati Bengals and Chicago Bears should be involved in a tight game on Sunday, but it won’t be high scoring.
Las Vegas NFL odds have the line at 45 points, which provides bettors with an excellent opportunity to cash for the Week Two clash.
We look at why the Bengals and Bears struggle to score points, which points us towards the under.
Bengals Struggle on the Road
The Bengals might have scored 27 points when beating the Minnesota Vikings last week, but it’s typically a different story on the road.
We respect the throwing ability of Joe Burrow, but he’s still finding his feet, and we think he could struggle to score touchdowns on Sunday.
Cincinnati has scored only 38 points in its last two games on the road combined. It’s not a good record, and the under is 8-2 in the Bengals last 10 road games against teams with a losing record.

The 2020 season is a good indication of what bettors should expect this season. The Bengals scored low offensive numbers throughout the year, including three points against Baltimore twice, and seven points against the Cowboys, Dolphins, and nine points against Washington.
It doesn’t make for good reading, and the under is also 12-5-2 in the Bengals last 19 road games. Dropping passes isn’t ideal either, which rookie wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase found out. He has been dropping passes throughout training camps and on the field, so that helps with the under.
“I know I left a lot of stuff out there,” Chase told ESPN. “But that’s all in time for me to get better, of course. I’m not afraid to get better. That’s what I’m here for — to work, to get better, make the team better, make the organization better.
Our NFL predictions are for the Bengals to struggle offensively, even against the Chicago Bears.
Bears Pedestrian on Offense
There is talk that Andy Dalton won’t last as quarterback for much longer if he continues to struggle on offense.
The former Bengals quarterback never got going in the orange and black, and those problems have transferred to the Bears.
They scored only 14 points in a 34-14 defeat to the Rams last week, which emphasized their struggles on offense. Dalton was solid with his numbers of 27-38, but there was never a threat to score touchdowns.
Scoring in the red zone is seemingly impossible for the Bears, who continue to shoot themselves in the foot. Even if Justin Fields comes into the team, he’s a rookie who could struggle to find his rhythm early.
It comes as no surprise to see betting trends favor the under in games involving the Bears. The under is 4-0 in the Bears last four Week Two games, and it’s also 4-1 in the last five games when giving up 30 points or more in the previous game.
Those who bet on NFL know the offensive problems with the Bears, who often have to resort to a field goal kick, and they’re not very good at kicking either.
Statistics and betting trends favor the under 45 points, so we expect the line to move closer to game day. 45 points is a generous line for a game that could easily end 17-10.
Under of the Week Pick
We are confident of this game going well under the 45-point total. We have no confidence in the Bengals or Bears to produce the goods offensively.
Betting online markets have a generous number and we see this game being somewhere around the 17-10 or 24-17 mark, which sees the under coming in easily.
