Everyone loves a good underdog story. This season, it may be Sam Darnold and the Minnesota Vikings. But for this Sunday Night Football, it’s Joe Flacco and the Indianapolis Colts.

With the news that Flacco will be the starter at quarterback for Indianapolis, our money is on the underdog in many ways. The Colts are underrated and will score all over Minnesota’s weakening defense.

We’ve got a Sunday Night Football parlay of NFL bets for the underdogs!

3 Legs To Bet on a Colts vs Vikings SNF Parlay

1. Take the Points for the Colts

There was a lot of hullabaloo on the NFL news of Flacco replacing Anthony Richardson as the Colts’ starting quarterback. But if you’re a baseball fan, this feels like a pitching matchup decision.

Flacco is the superior passer, and he’s a better candidate to expose Minnesota’s vulnerable passing defense. That’s why we’re taking the 5½ points and going with the Colts.

The Colts have covered six straight games. Most notably, three of their four losses have been by three points or fewer.

Now they face Minnesota, which ranks as a subpar passing defense. The Vikings have given up the third-most passing yards (263.0 per game) and fifth-most passing touchdowns (14). On the other side of the coin, Minnesota has the most interceptions in the NFL with 12.

But this team, which still ranks atop the NFL in pressure rate (30.2%), had issues the last two weeks. It had trouble pressuring Matthew Stafford of the Rams when the Los Angeles offensive line had injuries. And the Vikings also got carved up by Jared Goff and the Lions.

Minnesota could also continue to be without Black Cashman at inside linebacker. This further hampers its pass coverage.

On the offensive side, the loss of left tackle Christian Darrishaw hurts. The Vikings acquired Cam Robinson this week after he was benched by Jacksonville. This is a big downgrade, especially with a healthy DeForest Buckner for Indianapolis.

All signs point to Indianapolis putting the hurt on Minnesota. We know just how poorly Darnold reacts to pressure. So our bet online is on Indianapolis to cover as the first leg of our parlay.

2. Flacco Throws Over His Passing Yards

Minnesota is hurting on both sides of the ball. This gives Flacco and the offense the chance to take this game even if they fall behind.

But regardless of whether they play from ahead or behind, we expect Flacco to go over his passing yards. This should be the next leg of this Sunday Night Football parlay.

The Colts have the most explosive fourth-quarter offense. They’ve averaged 10.6 points in the fourth quarter, which is mainly how they’ve been money against the spread.

Minnesota also gives up 7.3 points per game in the fourth on top of all those passing yards. Flacco has averaged 274.0 passing yards in two starts this season. Last season, he averaged 323.2 with Cleveland.

Flacco may be grizzled, but the 39-year-old can still throw the rock. His average of 7.5 adjusted yards per pass attempt would rank in the upper half among NFL starting quarterbacks this season. Bet on Flacco and his “old man strength” against the Vikings.

PARLAY PICK: Joe Flacco Over 238½ Passing Yards

3. Colts Score Over Their Total

To complete this parlay, bet on the Colts to score over their projected point total. The Vikings have given up 29-plus points in three of their last four games. The Jets are the only team that’s failed to hit that mark, and they’re a dumpster fire right now.

Indianapolis does not even need to score that many. Three touchdowns should suffice.

The Colts have fallen just shy of 21 points in their last three games. But two of these were with Anthony Richardson, who can’t hit the broad side of a barn, starting.

With Flacco, the Colts hung 27 on the Steelers and 34 on the Jaguars. And with him leading Cleveland last season, the Browns put up 28.6 points on average.

We can’t ignore Jonathan Taylor being healthy either. The former All-Pro running back ran for 105 yards and a touchdown against Houston.

The last time he started with Flacco was against Pittsburgh. Indianapolis is ready to score on Minnesota. Add their total over for the final of your NFL picks for Sunday Night Football.

PARLAY PICK: Indianapolis Over 20½ Points

Bet on Colts +5.5, Joe Flacco Over 238½ Passing Yards and Colts Over 20½ points
