Commanders vs Giants Picks: Bet on N.Y. to Cover at Home in Week 9
- Let’s check the Commanders vs Giants odds and find the best bets for Sunday.
- Despite recent struggles, the Giants have a strong ATS record as home underdogs.
- Daniel Jones typically performs better against Washington, giving New York a shot.
- The Giants’ defense is also worth betting via the totals at the BetUS sportsbook.
The New York Giants laid another egg on Monday Night Football and became one of the metropolitan teams in ‘NYC’ to lose during the sports equinox. The loss to Pittsburgh makes it three straight for New York and looks bleaker with each ‘L’. And yet our NFL pick in this divisional game against Washington is with the Giants. Hear us out.
Eli Manning knew exactly what was coming before the snap….
Brian Daboll said postgame that Daniel Jones was supposed to shift the tight end — but didn’t. “DJ feels terrible.”

2 Betting Picks for Commanders vs Giants
1. Giants Cover Against Careless Commanders
The optics are terrible for the Giants, and we sound crazy touting a bet on this team. But our pick is more of a fade against Washington than support for New York. At 4, we see this NFL line trending toward the Commanders as the public is down on the Giants. But Daniel Jones, as awful as he’s been, tends to play well against Washington.
Jones is terrible when playing at home, though. In 34 career games, he’s thrown 27 touchdowns versus 30 interceptions. In contrast, he’s thrown 41 TDs against 15 picks in the same number of road games. But here’s the kicker: his QB record is almost identical: 12-21-1 at home and 12-22 on the road. And Jones is 5-2-1 against Washington with 12 TDs versus three picks in his career.
This also tells us that the Giants, despite how badly their quarterback plays, find ways to win at home. We’re not saying New York will pull off the upset here. But Washington, a young team, is playing with house money and is feeling itself after that crazy win over Chicago.
Washington could be due for a letdown spot here. The total is relatively low. And against the Giants, who still have a good defense and are 9-6-1 against the spread as a home underdog since 2022, it’s a prime betting spot against chalk.
You either pass on a side here or you close your eyes and bet online on New York to cover.

2. Bet on an Ugly Game as Defenses Come Alive
The Giants and Commanders should combine for a low-scoring total. We’re going against the line movement as it has gone up to 44. That’s better as this game will go under like previous meetings: six of the last seven at the MetLife Stadium. New York may have 160 million problems at QB. But it’s defense ain’t one.
New York still ranks as one of the NFL’s best defenses particularly because of its defensive line. Dexter Lawrence may be the best defensive tackle in the NFL since Aaron Donald. He has nine sacks and is a big reason why the Giants lead the league in this category (35). More notably, he’s a passionate leader who ensures the team does not quit.

“They got some studs on the inside. [Lawrence] is a premier player and needs to probably get some more recognition for the ability that he has,” then-Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said in 2022. “Talking to our interior three [offensive linemen] they think he’s one of the top guys in the league for sure.”
With Lawrence leading the charge, the Giants can keep this game close relative to the NFL odds. They’ll also keep Washington at bay. The Commanders, for all their hype, were held to 12 points before that Hail Mary TD against Chicago. They also only scored 23 against Baltimore and 21 in a three-point victory at home against the Giants in Week 2.
This team is not an unstoppable scoring machine like Baltimore or Detroit. The Commanders can be had and the Giants will show up this Sunday afternoon. Our NFL prediction is on a low-scoring game that is decided by a field goal or less.
Bet on Commanders vs Giants Under 44 (-110)
