NFL Draft Odds Favor The Patriots Selecting a Franchise Quarterback: Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and JJ McCarthy lead the way.

As the 2024 NFL Draft kicks off on April 25th, the battle for the third overall pick is wide open. Talented rookies are making their cases, with quarterbacks again leading the charge. Will it be UNC’s star passer Maye’s electric playmaking or Jayden Daniels’ pro-ready pedigree that wows the Patriots’ brain trust?

Get ready as we track the rising stars who could hear their names called with that coveted third pick.

Is Drake Maye A Sure Bet To Go To The Patriots In the NFL Draft at #3?

Once the Pats hit the clock, all eyes will surely be on Drake Maye, the golden boy from UNC. The majority of mock drafts show the odds looking pretty sweet for Maye to be the one donning that Patriots cap on draft day, but hold your horses – there’s more to this story than meets the eye.

Maye might be the prototypical NFL quarterback, but his road to the draft hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows. His somewhat tumultuous record at UNC, including a last-minute offensive coordinator change before the 2023 season, has led some scouts to question his pro readiness. But let’s not forget what this kid can do on the field.

During his sophomore season in 2022, Maye was an absolute monster, racking up 4,321 passing yards and 38 touchdowns through the air. Oh, and did I mention he also ran for seven more scores? Maye was a one-man wrecking crew, earning himself a spot in the top 5 of the FBS rankings.

Sure, his numbers dipped in 2023, but that could just be a blip on the radar.

Other Betting Options To Be Selected #3 In the NFL Draft?

Leading the pack in the race to give Maye a run for the #3 position is none other than LSU’s shot caller Jayden Daniels at +125 in case he doesn’t get snagged up previously by the Commanders at #2, but hot on his heels is J.J. McCarthy at +200.

These two gunslingers are the clear frontrunners but don’t count out the dark horses just yet. Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. is lurking in the shadows at +1800, ready to make a splash, while Notre Dame’s Joe Alt and USC’s Caleb Williams are both sitting pretty at +5500, although we all know Williams will be far gone by the time the Pats are on the clock.

Washington’s Michael Penix Jr., Oregon’s Bo Nix, LSU’s Malik Nabers, and UCLA’s Laiatu Latu are all in the mix, with odds ranging from +5500 to +6000. Lastly, the longshots – Brock Bowers, Dallas Turner, Jared Verse, and Olumuyiwa Fashanu are all hovering around +7000, just waiting for their moment to shine.
