Washington has won three games in a row against the Falcons and covered in each of those games. Atlanta had won the previous six games in the series with three of those wins coming on the road. That is something to consider when it comes to the Falcons vs Commanders betting tips.

Falcons vs Commanders Picks: Best ML, Over/Under, Prop Bets
1. Washington Commanders ML (-205)
It is kind of ironic that a win by Washington would not only give the Commanders their first playoff spot since 2020 but also guarantee that only one playoff team will come out of the NFC South Division.
Washington is coming off an emotional win over division rival Philadelphia and it is hard to see the Commanders losing at home for just the third time this season.

This will be just the second start for Atlanta rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. He looked pretty good in his first start but that was also coming against the dreadful New York Giants. It will be a tougher test this week.
Expect to see the Commanders be aggressive in putting pressure on Penix. Unlike Jayden Daniels, the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year front-runner who can make plays with his feet as well as with his arm, Penix is unlikely to tuck the ball and go.
Atlanta can win the NFC South with two wins or a win but when making NFL picks, it is hard to see that happening in Week 17.
Bet on the Commanders ML (-205)
2. Falcons vs Commanders Over 48
Per NFL betting trends, there have been at least 55 combined points scored in four of the last six games for the Commanders after a wild 36-33 win in Week 16 as Daniel threw five touchdown passes.
Washington is 18th and Atlanta is 19th in the NFL in scoring defense, with both teams allowing more than 23 points per game. Washington ranks 30th out of 32 teams in rushing defense so perhaps the Falcons will look to ride the legs of talented but underutilized running back Bijan Robinson in this huge game.
NFC playoff scenarios for Week 17.
For Washington, win (or tie) and in or clinch with a Tampa Bay loss.

Atlanta is just 20th in passing defense and the Falcons could have their hands full against Daniels, Terry McLaurin and the Washington offense.

3. No Touchdown Longer Than 39.5 Yards (-130)
The longest pass play for Penix this season is 22 yards while the longest run for the Falcons is 37 yards.
Darnell Mooney is a big-play threat for the Falcons but Drake London, Ray-Ray McCloud and tight end Kyle Pitts would need to put up some impressive yards after the catch numbers to have a touchdown of at least 40 yards for NFL player props.
There are seven Washington players with plays from scrimmage of 40 yards or longer, but three of the five touchdown passes for Daniels against the Eagles were less than 10 yards.
A Falcons vs Commanders best bet could be for the longest touchdowns to be under 39.5 yards (-130).
Bet on the longest touchdown in the Falcons-Commanders game to be under 39.5 yards (-130)
