Falcons vs Jaguars Prediction, Odds and NFL Expert Picks Against the Spread

The International Series for the NFL is officially underway in Week 4 with the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars heading to London to square off in the infamous Wembley Stadium. While there’s no “home field advantage” in this game, it’s an interesting matchup between teams with records very few expected to see at this point.

The Falcons have gotten off to a surprising 2-1 start after winning two straight to start the year and losing in Week 3 to the Detroit Lions. As for the Jaguars, they took down the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 and then dropped two straight, including last week to the Houston Texans.

We’re going to look at this one from top to bottom and roll right into the Falcons vs Jaguars picks with a spot that looks appealing if one side can revert back to form.

Riding with Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars Talented Offense

The Jaguars have put up a solid 248 yards per game through the air, and while Atlanta has been good against the pass thus far, Lawrence will be their toughest test to date. The big concern for the Jags has to be their own pass defense, as they’ve allowed 269.3 yards. Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder has only 553 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception through three games, so it’ll be interesting to watch if they let him open it up in this matchup.

I’m going to buy stock in the Jaguars passing attack, led by three pass-catchers all with 173 yards apiece this season –Calvin Ridley, Christian Kirk and Evan Engram. The Falcons gave up 243 yards to Jared Goff last week while wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown cleared the 100-yard mark with 102 yards.

Falcons rookie running back Bijan Robinson has shown glimpses of tremendous upside through just three games, but the Jaguars’ run defense has looked solid. Using the same narrative, though, Robinson will be their toughest matchup to date, so this one could come down to whether the Jags passing game or Falcons rushing attack can break through. The Falcons vs Jaguars lines point to the Jags as the favorites here, but it’s a slim margin and I’ll take them to cover it.

NFL Predicted Score: Jacksonville Jaguars 24, Atlanta Falcons 17

Falcons vs Jaguars Best Bets

If the Jaguars offense can live up to the upside we saw last season, they could be a top choice among Falcons vs Jaguars predictions for this week. Jacksonville enters this game as a 3-point favorite. A real wild card in this game could be running back Travis Etienne, who could help push this to a double-digit victory if he’s able to build off the glimpses of early season success we’ve seen.

The big question for bettors will be if they believe the Falcons are the real deal with a winning record through three games. It’s hard to buy stock in them yet, so I’m going with the team in a decent spot with higher upside and more playmakers in the Jaguars to cover here.

NFL Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars -3

Tease is the Target for Falcons vs Jaguars

I’m a big believer in finding ways to navigate a total when the prediction for the game winds up close to it. Although I think the Jaguars can put up points in a hurry, it’s tough to gauge how the game overseas can go. The projected total for this game sits at 43.5. The Falcons and Jaguars have each played overseas in the past two seasons, with game totals landing near this number (47 points for the Falcons in 2021 and 38 for the Jaguars in 2022), so that’s not much of a driving favor.

But I do think we see the defenses manage to keep things in check to some extent, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the Jags defense can contain Desmond Ridder and the passing game. I’m going to tease the Jaguars to +3.5 here which covers a loss by a field goal and also take the under 50 total points in the Falcons vs Jaguars betting odds.

NFL Pick: 6.5-point Tease on Jaguars +3.5 and Under 50 points
