Fast-Starting 49ers ATS Pick vs Giants
The first two weeks of the season have not gone as planned for the New York Giants (1-1). NFL expert picks could be looking to fade New York only two weeks into the season. The Giants are 0-2 against the spread (ATS) and lost 40-0 against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
New York is hoping to avoid another lopsided loss on primetime as it visits the San Francisco 49ers (2-0) for a Thursday Night Football bout in Week 3.

The 49ers are as dangerous as ever. They rank second in point differential and are the sportsbook’s co-favorite to win Super Bowl 58 (+700). The Giants were sloppy in Week 2, needing a 21-point comeback in their 31-28 win against the Arizona Cardinals. Will San Francisco roll to another dominant win?
Bet 49ers to Strike First
After an embarrassing season opener, the Giants finally showed signs of life against the Cardinals. New York didn’t get going until the second half, but hey, it’s progress. The Giants totaled 31 points in the second half and 17 points in the fourth quarter. That’s impressive against anyone.
The 49ers have been one of the best teams in the NFL. Following its 30-7 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco defeated the Los Angeles Rams 30-23.
The offense is rolling. Running back Christian McCaffrey is averaging 134 rushing yards on 6.4 yards per carry. Per NFL lines, he is the favorite to win Offensive Player of the Year (+500). Quarterback Brock Purdy has also been very efficient.

This could mean a fast start for San Francisco. The Niners have scored first in both games, and New York has been outscored 46-0 in the first half.
- NFL Pick: 49ers to Score First (-175)
Injuries Spell Trouble for Giants
Quarterback Daniel Jones was impressive in Week 2’s come-from-behind win, totaling 321 passing yards with a 103.5 passer rating. Jones also scored three touchdowns. NFL picks this week should look to back Jones in props.
San Francisco certainly boasts one of the league’s top defenses. However, it did show a potential weakness in Week 2. Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 307 passing yards in the matchup. Coming off of an exceptional performance, Jones could be in store for a big day.
The Giants’ offensive line could determine the outcome of the game. Las Vegas NFL odds have the 49ers as 10½-point favorites. If New York’s pass-blocking struggles continue, San Francisco should roll to a cover.
Running back Saquon Barkley will miss a couple of games after suffering an ankle injury. Without Barkley, the Giants’ run game could be non-existent. This puts the load on Jones’ shoulders.
Left tackle Andrew Thomas (hamstring) and Ben Bredeson (concussion) are questionable for Week 3. The offensive line has already struggled enough, allowing seven sacks in Week 1 and three in Week 2. Without starters on the O-line, the Giants could be doomed.
The 49ers have a loaded defensive line, led by reigning Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa. San Francisco totaled five sacks in Week 1 and six QB hits in Week 2.
Back the Niners to cover in your weekly NFL picks. Slow starts have plagued New York, and the Giants’ offense will likely struggle against San Francisco’s formidable defense.
