Football Parlay: High Five These Five Underdogs

Taking Shots with Underestimated Football Teams

Football is king in North America for one main reason: parity. Unlike most other team sports, any football team, no matter how small, can win on any given day. This covers football teams from the NCAAF to the CFL to the NFL. And this applies doubly when speaking of football betting odds, as we’ll find out this weekend when these five underdogs beat their spreads.

As well explore a variety of other CFL odds here to win!

Best Football Games To Parlay This Weekend

NCAAF: North Carolina Tar Heels (-7½) vs Georgia State Panthers

  • Total: Over 67½ (-110), Under 67½ (-110)
  • Day/Time: Saturday, Sep 10, 12 p.m. ET
  • Live Stream: ESPN

The Tar Heels tend to be overrated as a football program. As a favorite last year, UNC went 4-6-0 against the spread (ATS). This team also lost four of its last five road games. Granted, this year’s team appears prolific on offense. But the defense leaves plenty to be desired. The Panthers don’t command confidence after their Week 1 stinker but this team has won its last three home games. Bet online on them to give UNC a run for its money.

Pick: Georgia State Panthers +7½ (-110)

CFL: Toronto Argonauts (-3½) vs Ottawa Redblacks

  • Total: Over 45½ (-110), Under 45½ (-110)
  • Day/Time: Saturday, Sep 10, 2:00 p.m. ET
  • Live Stream: CFL

Rivalry games have a way of being unpredictable no matter the gap between the teams. Hence, we’re siding with the Redblacks. The Redblacks are 8-4 ATS in their last 12 home games against the Argos. This team has rallied behind quarterback Nick Arbuckle and has now won two straight. Toronto is inconsistent and alternates brilliant outings with a head-scratcher. Ottawa edges Toronto or, at the least, covers the sportsbook’s spread.

Pick: Ottawa Redblacks +3½ (-110)

NFL: New Orleans Saints (-6) vs Atlanta Falcons

  • Total: Over 42½ (-110), Under 42½ (-110)
  • Day/Time: Sunday, Sep 11, 1:00 p.m. ET
  • Live stream: NFL Game Pass

Week 1 in the NFL tends to be rich with upsets. Don’t look further than division games beginning with the NFC South. We’ll gladly take the points books are giving Atlanta as the Saints are not that great. Their vaunted defense is aging and their offense is a work-in-progress. Dennis Allen is 8-28 as a coach. Atlanta will have the better offense as the resurgent Marcus Mariota has chemistry with his old coach.

Pick: Atlanta Falcons +6 (-110)

NFL: Green Bay Packers (-1½) vs Minnesota Vikings

  • Total: Over 48 (-110), Under 48 (-110)
  • Day/Time: Sunday, Sep 11, 4:25 p.m. ET
  • Live stream: NFL Game Pass

Another division rivalry favors the road team. Like the Saints, Green Bay is being overrated. Aaron Rodgers just lost his best receiver and when push comes to shove, the new-look Vikings could just keep up. Minnesota has an embarrassment of riches on offense and the team is 2-0  in NFL picks against the spread when playing host to Green Bay as an underdog with Kirk Cousins.

Pick: Minnesota Vikings +105

NFL: Denver Broncos (-6½) vs Seattle Seahawks

  • Total: Over 44½ (-110), Under 44½ (-110)
  • Day/Time: Monday, Sep 12, 8:15 p.m. ET
  • Live stream: NFL Game Pass

“Revenge games” are much like division rivalries. It’s almost a 50/50 proposition so given the odds, we’ll gladly roll with the underdogs at home. Most expect Russell Wilson to lead his new team, the Broncos, past the Seahawks. Instead, Pete Carroll will outcoach Nathaniel Hackett and stick it to his old quarterback. Don’t underestimate Seattle this season, especially since Carroll is 16-9-0 ATS as a home underdog with Seattle.

Pick: Seattle Seahawks +6½ (-110)

Parlay: Georgia State +7½, Redblacks +3½, Falcons +6, Vikings ML, and Seahawks +6½ at +2623
