Last-Place Teams Look to Bounce Back
Last-place teams will each try to bump their spots in their respective divisions when the Houston Gamblers and Pittsburgh Maulers meet on Saturday. Though the Gamblers have double the wins that the Maulers do, both teams are tied for last in their divisions and will look to improve their standing when they clash for the first time. However, USFL odds favor Houston in the matchup.
Gamblers Fall Short
Houston dropped its first game in five weeks after its comeback attempt against Memphis fell short.
The Gamblers gave up their most points to an opponent in four weeks as the Showboats scored 23 points, while Houston’s offense couldn’t quite keep up.
Houston Mark Thompson scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter after the team managed only six points in the first half. It wasn’t enough as Memphis also reached the end zone in the final quarter.
The Gamblers have allowed an average of 15.3 points in their past three games, but they have also given up some big games, so bettors may want to see how they start before making use of USFL live betting odds.
Maulers: Defense Struggles
Pittsburgh’s offense had its best performance of the season, scoring 31 points, but its defense couldn’t do the same to secure the win.
The Maulers gave up 347 total yards to the Stars, allowing them to score 37 points and go 3-for-4 in the red zone.
Pittsburgh was especially unable to slow the passing game, as Philadelphia threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns.
Though the Maulers’ offense was solid in their last game, they were shut out in the previous game. Their defense will have to step up as well to make them a trustworthy team in USFL picks.

The Gamblers and Maulers met once last season on May 15, where Pittsburgh came away with a close 21-20 victory.
