Streaking Teams Hope to Continue Success
The two USFL teams with the longest winning streaks will go head to head when the Houston Gamblers and Memphis Showboats clash on Sunday. Houston is tied for first in the league with a win streak of four while Memphis is hot behind with three wins in a row after starting the season 0-3. Only one will be victorious, however, and according to USFL odds, it’ll be the Gamblers.
Gamblers Stay on Top
Houston grabbed its fourth win after another strong defensive performance.
The Generals lead the USFL with 151.7 rushing yards a game, but New Jersey was held to 69 rushing yards against the Gamblers.
The strong ground defense helped Houston limit the Generals to 10 points and 231 total yards.
Despite the defensive performance, the Gamblers’ offense still stumbled, finishing 1 of 4 in the red zone and making it tough for those making USFL picks to trust their offense.
Showboats Continue Run
Memphis also got closer to the top of the league standings with a stifling defensive performance.
The Showboats held the Pittsburgh Maulers scoreless and out of the red zone throughout the whole game, leaving them with few opportunities to score.
Though the Maulers put up 283 total yards, Memphis turned them over to help keep them scoreless, recording three interceptions.

The Showboats’ offense also sputtered as they were unable to score on the only red zone opportunity they had.
Gamblers vs Showboats Head-to-Head
The Gamblers and Showboats already met in Week 3, where Houston got the better of Memphis 30-26.

Worth Betting ATS?
Though the first game between the two was a shootout that ended with the Gamblers victorious, this game won’t go the same way. The Showboats’ offense has continued to struggle while Houston’s defense has shown steady improvement, which should help the Gamblers cover the 3½-point spread from USFL lines.
Worth Betting on the Totals?
The second matchup between the Gamblers and Showboats likely won’t bring as much scoring as the first did. Both teams’ defense have been strong during their win streaks, and with each also struggling to get in the end zone last week, it’s hard to imagine them hitting the 43-point total from the sportsbook.
