The Bears garnered a lot of headlines after undrafted rookie QB Tyson Bagent stepped up and led the Bears to an impressive 30-12 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The rookie went 21-for-29 with 162 yards and a TD, adding three rushes for 24 yards.
It’s easy to fade a former UFA, but after what Brock Purdy has done in San Francisco as a former Mr. Irrelevant, my faith in NFL scouts took a big hit. I’m not suggesting Bagent takes the Bears on a playoff run, but I think he has value against the Vegas betting odds versus the Chargers.

Regarding the NFL betting predictions for Bagent, his passing yardage total may seem high at 201½ but don’t forget that the Chargers have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. LA allows the most passing yards per game (310) and has the 24th-ranked opponent completion percentage (68.26%).
Trusting Bagent to take another step forward against the Chargers is an excellent bet online, and I like his props for yards, completions, and rushing yards.

The Bears are getting healthy on defense, with several key names returning in Week 8, but even at full strength, Justin Herbert can shred them like Taco Bell lettuce.
You may look at the Chargers’ poor record and blame Herbert for their struggles. But he’s probably the only reason they aren’t 0-6. Herbert has amassed 1,592 yards, 10 touchdowns and a quarterback rating 97.1 over six starts.
Regarding passing yards, Herbert has gone Over this total in two of his previous five games but was up against some very good defenses, including the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys.
The Bears defense, however, ranks 29th against the pass with an average of 257.1 yards per game allowed.
