Team To Score First, Titans -135
The Titans are 7-5, a little doom and gloom in Nashville about now. They’ve lost back-to-back games, having fired general manager Jon Robinson this past week. No one saw that coming.
At the same time, the sky is not falling. The five losses have been to quality opponents, each of whom would make the postseason as of now. They lost to the league-best Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday.
It was the division-leading (and surging) Cincinnati Bengals before that, again no slouch. The opponent this week isn’t tough.
Jacksonville’s lost 21 of its last 22 road games, including stomped, 40-14, at Detroit last out. It’s a good option in your NFL picks to have the Titans scoring first Sunday afternoon as the Titans should be focused at the outset, jumping on the Jags early.

Total Field Goals, Over 3½
While the Jags’ offense has improved, it’s still been a struggling unit. The Titans’ offense is not prolific. Taking both into account, over 3½ field goals seems to make a lot of sense.
Jacksonville kicker Riley Patterson has had at least two attempts in four consecutive weeks. he’s at least two field goals in three of his last four.
The Titan’s Randy Bullock has made exactly one field goal in four games in a row. He will need to do more to get us to the over, but the offense has really been laboring, averaging just 15.3 points per game in the last quartet. Jacksonville surrenders 22.7 points per game, so perhaps more Bullock opportunities.
- Picks: Over 3½ Field Goals (+105)
First Touchdown, Travis Etienne
Travis Etienne is a running back who’s trending, provided he’s healthy and the Jags aren’t blown out. Etienne had 54 yards (13 carries) last week, but the Jaguars were obliterated. They abandoned the run against the Detroit Lions with a 23-6 deficit at halftime.
Etienne had 50 of his 54 rush yards after the Jags’ first three drives last week. He may be a focal point early this Sunday, too. This is a bit of a flier, but if he’s going to get the opportunities, he will have a chance to cash. Priced at +750 in the sportsbook, so it’s worth a throw of the dart.
- Picks: Etienne First TD +750
