Calgary Favored to Win at Home Versus Reeling BC
Second place is up for grabs as the Calgary Stampeders have a golden opportunity in playing host to the shorthanded BC Lions. The Stamps have rolled through the CFL as long as they’re not facing Winnipeg and they are favored on the CFL football betting odds by almost a touchdown. Lions Look To Adams for Answers
For the second straight game, the Lions took an “L” as Montreal easily dispatched them. BC’s offense remained disorganized as it managed one touchdown versus six turnovers. The defense still played well but with the offense continually shooting itself in the foot, this team isn’t going anywhere.
The team is hoping Vernon Adams Jr., who they acquired from the Alouettes, can finally create something. He gets the nod against Calgary. The 29-year-old hasn’t played much this season as he was benched in Montreal in favor of Trevor Harris. In Adams, the Lions have a versatile quarterback who can do what Antonio Pipkin does but better.
Adams had his best season in the CFL in 2019 when he led Montreal to a 10-8 record. Ironically, Pipkin was one of his backups this season. But if Adams can recapture some of the magic here, the Lions may be worth betting online again.

Maier Can Fix Calgary’s Woes at Home
The Stampeders have been one of the best teams on the online sportsbook. But like their provincial rivals, the Elks, Calgary has struggled mightily at home. The Stamps have not covered in any of their home games (0-5 against the spread). However, Jake Maier and the offense could finally buck this trend.
The “Maier of Calgary” has shown why he can be the team’s next great quarterback. His 77.6 completion percentage, 9.9 yards-average, and 118.8 passer rating are second only to Rourke. Against Winnipeg, Maier had his best game of the season by making 23-of-28 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns.
He gets his next toughest test in a home-and-home against the Lions. But if he can maintain his pace, the Stampeders will go over the Lions and remain firmly in the second spot of the Power Rankings.
Lions vs Calgary Head-to-Head
On paper, the Lions have the edge over the Stampeders. BC has covered in four of its last six games versus Calgary. On top of that, BC is 4-1 ATS on the road while Calgary is 0-5 ATS at home. However, BC is 0-2 without Rourke, and Calgary is 3-1 since Maier took over the starting QB position.

Lions vs Calgary Prediction
Our money is on Calgary because we can’t trust the Lions given their unstable offense. There is a chance that Adams gives Calgary a run for its money but he hasn’t looked that great since he got hurt in 2021. At some point, the Stamps will have a statement win at home and it will be this one against the Lions.
But as far as the bet to make, bet on this one to go under 52½. The Lions have managed 26 total points in the two games without Rourke but its defense is still formidable. This one won’t feature enough scoring.
