Lions vs Texans Parlay Picks: 3 Bets For Home Dogs on SNF 11/10

  • The Texans are undefeated at home, scoring 23 or more points in their last three games.
  • Detroit’s pass defense is vulnerable, and Houston QB CJ Stroud can exploit this.
  • Houston’s offense makes for solid NFL parlay picks at the BetUS Sportsbook.

It’s a home sweet home for the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football when they host the Detroit Lions. Coming off a disappointing loss last Thursday, Houston got extra days to prepare for the Lions.

The Texans are an underdog on the betting lines. But with extra prep and playing with chips on their shoulders, we like the home dog. We put together the best NFL bets for a parlay focused on Houston.

3 Legs To Bet on a Lions vs Texans SNF Parlay

1. Houston Plays Better at Home So Go Over Its Points

Due to its inconsistencies, most bettors have soured on Houston. But not us. Houston is still one of the best NFL teams and playing at home makes it better.

The Texans are 4-0 at NRG Stadium and could have star receiver Nico Collins back. With these conditions, Houston going over 21½ points is one of the more solid NFL picks.

Houston is 4-1 when Collins plays and 3-0 when he scores a touchdown. Even without Stefon Diggs, who is out for the season, CJ Stroud will have his favorite receiver back.

The Texans are also more consistent at home. They have scored 23 or more points in their last three home games, and one was against Buffalo, which has a top-10 defense.

The Lions have a clutch defense. Detroit is giving up the fifth-fewest points per game (18.5) by limiting opponents to under 30% on third-down conversion (leads the NFL) and 43.5% on red zone touchdown rate (fourth in the NFL).

Detroit also got help by acquiring Z’Darius Smith who has 5.0 sacks in nine games. The Lions will look to pressure Stroud all game. But that’s something Stroud is used to.

The quarterback is being pressured more this season but is still putting up MVP-caliber numbers, especially at home. The loss to the New York Jets could also be a blessing in disguise, as it seems to have lit a fire.

“To come out here on a prime-time game and get embarrassed, that is never fun,” Stroud said after the setback. “This is definitely a great wake-up call for us to tighten up the ship.”

With Stroud and Co. playing with more of an edge, they can beat Detroit. And to do that, they’ll score over 21½ points. That’s why it’s the first leg of our SNF parlay.

PARLAY PICK: Texans Over 21½ Points (-120)

2. Stroud Fires Back; Bet Over His Passing Yards

The Lions’ defense may be clutch, but it’s still vulnerable against the pass. This is something Stroud can exploit, especially if Collins plays. The quarterback should go over his passing yards, and we’re adding that to our SNF same-game parlay.

Detroit may have a top-five-scoring defense, but it still gives up plenty of yards, especially by air. The NFC North favorites give up almost 251 passing yards per game, which is the third-most in the NFL.

On average, they allow 6.2 yards per passing play, and this is blitzing a lot. The Lions vs Texans trends show Houston’s passing yards could be significant.

Stroud is typically under siege this season. He’s already been sacked 30 times, which is just eight fewer than the entirety of his 2023 campaign. This explains why his stats are not as prolific as his rookie year. But at home, Stroud and the offense perform better.

Stroud has only been sacked eight times in four home games. In comparison, he’s been sacked 22 times in five road games. As a result, Stroud has five passing touchdowns against just one pick at home for a 100.9 passer rating.

Stroud also averages 8.21 adjusted yards per attempt and over 305 yards at home. Even against Detroit’s aggressive defense, we’re betting on C.J. Stroud to beat his NFL odds. Parlay his passing yards at over 235½.

PARLAY PICK: C.J. Stroud Over 235½ Passing Yards (-114)

3. Stroud Racks up TDs; Bet For a Pair

Stroud will not only pass for over 235½ yards, but he’ll throw a pair of touchdowns as well. The Lions have only given up six passing touchdowns, or less than one per game.

But again, Detroit is susceptible to big plays, and we can see Stroud throwing long bombs for Collins. He doesn’t need that many with this prop either.

Detroit is coming off a big win in Lambeau Field over the Green Bay Packers last week. While the Lions could be feeling themselves, Stroud and the Texans are pissed off.

The stats and the intangibles all side with the Texans here. Even as underdogs, we’re betting on Stroud to score on Detroit. Parlay his 2+ passing touchdowns prop when you’re doing your online sports betting.

PARLAY PICK: C.J. Stroud 2+ Passing Touchdowns (+131)

Bet on Texans Over 21½ Points, CJ Stroud Over 235½ Passing Yards, CJ Stroud 2+ Passing Touchdowns
