Thanksgiving week of the NFL season serves up a jam-packed schedule with 16 games spanning from Thursday’s tripleheader to Monday Night Football.
In what is sure to be a scintillatingly festive week of football, we look at the early NFL odds and lines that are trading at the sportsbook exchange in order to highlight the best games to bet now and those that are best to bet later.
NFL Odds & Lines Week 12
- Bet Later: Buffalo Bills vs Detroit Lions (+10)
- Bet Now: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -(3) vs Cleveland Browns
- Bet Now/Later: Cincinnati Bengals vs Tennessee Titans (+1)
Bet Later: Bills vs Lions (+10)
Don’t look now but the Detroit Lions are riding a three-game winning streak into Week 12. The Lions beat the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears and New York Giants to improve to 4-6-0 on the season. As well, they’re 6-4-0 against the spread (ATS) with a 3.8 losing margin on average.
The Buffalo Bills snapped a two-game losing streak behind a 31-23 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. As things currently stand, the Bills are 7-3-0 and in second place in the AFC East behind the Miami Dolphins. They’re also 5-4-1 ATS with a 10.7 winning margin on average.

Lookahead NFL lines had the Bills tipped as high as -10½ last week, but the official opening Week 12 line was Bills -9. This move was largely inspired by Detroit’s upset over the Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
It’s very likely that the festivities on Thursday will prompt the public to pound this game and, especially the Bills. In fact, the line started to shift in Buffalo’s direction before we went to press with this article, moving from Bills -9 to Bills -10. Don’t be surprised, therefore, if this line continues heading in that direction, reaching the point where lookaheads projected it last week or, even, beyond.
If you’re looking to back the plucky underdogs and have nerves of steel, then wait and see if you can grab more points with the Lions – an ideal scenario for a buyer would be to get the hook (+10½).
- Bet Now: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3) vs Cleveland Browns
Tom Brady and Co. are riding a two-game winning streak into Week 12 plus coming off a much-needed bye. It hasn’t been an easy season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but they’re still in the pole position in the NFC South.
The Cleveland Browns are coming off their second straight loss and seventh overall as they slipped to a 3-7-0 mark following a 31-23 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 11. The score belies the game, which wasn’t even that close. Had it not been for a garbage-time touchdown by the Browns in the dying minutes of the game, they would have lost by a double-digit margin.

This is the last game Jacoby Brissett will start for the Browns because Deshaun Watson is preparing to take over as the No.1 starter in Week 13. If you like Brady and Co, to heap more misery on Brissett and the Browns, grab them as field goal favorites on the road. In all likelihood, this line could potentially move off the key number before the week is out and go up to Bucs -3½ or higher.
Bet Now/Later: Bengals vs Titans (+1)
This is shaping up to be one of the games to spot for NFL picks this weekend, not least because it is a rematch of last season’s AFC Divisional Round playoff matchup.
Lookahead NFL lines had the Bengals favored as high as -2 last week, but the official Week 12 opening line was Bengals -1½.
That line didn’t hold for long, though. Early betting appears to have pushed it down to Bengals -1, even though Cincinnati is coming off a 37-30 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

The Bengals are hoping for the return of Ja’Marr Chase this weekend. Should the star receiver be cleared to play against the Titans, it’s very likely that this line will swing back in Cincy’s favor. If you like the Bengals in this matchup overall, then grab the Bengals at -1 now before this line ticks up to -2 or higher.
On the flip side, the Tennessee Titans are repeatedly undervalued by the oddsmakers, despite having a solid 7-3-0 SU record that is underpinned by a league-leading 8-2-0 ATS record. The Titans have the advantage of a mini-bye after upsetting the Green Bay Packers 27-17 at Lambeau on Thursday night and coming through as the +3 road underdogs for their backers.
If you like the Titans in this matchup, then wait and see if you can get a better number on the NFL odds board. The likelihood of that will increase if the Bengals get the good news about Chase that they want this week. Chase’s return to the lineup could draw plenty of public play on Bengals, thus betting up the line again.
