NFL Player Props Picks: Chiefs vs Texans Divisional Round Jan 18

The NFL regular season flew by, and we’re already onto the Divisional Round of the playoffs. With two games on tap Saturday, we kick off the day with an AFC clash that may look familiar. The Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes are set to battle C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans at 4:30 p.m. ET.

The Chiefs come into the playoffs as the favorite out of the AFC in Super Bowl odds, priced at +350. They are coming off a dominant regular season that saw them finish as the No. 1 seed in the AFC, which secured home-field advantage and a bye in the Wild Card round. We’re diving into my best NFL prop bets for this matchup.

This will be the first AFC matchup of that side of the bracket and it all goes down on Saturday afternoon. There is an entire season of statistics to digest and with the NFL playoffs in full motion, we have more opportunities to continue to cash in winning NFL expert bets.

2 Best Prop Bets for Chiefs vs Texans

1. Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco OVER 10½ rush attempts

My first NFL expert pick today is on Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco, who was a staple of the Kansas City running game during the previous Super Bowl run.

The game flow is critical when wagering on player props. It’s difficult for me to pick against Mahomes and the Chiefs, so as a result, I expect them to have the lead late in the game. Kansas City should find some success in the ground game.

In the Week 16 meeting between these teams, the Chiefs dominated the time of possession, controlling the ball for over 34 minutes. Kansas City has a plethora of weapons to keep the chains moving.

Pacheco returned in Week 13, and Andy Reid has been easing him back into the rotation with Kareem Hunt. He finished with 14, 13, and nine rush attempts in three of his last four games since returning, per Texans vs Chiefs stats.

It’s expected to be cold in Kansas City on Saturday, and coach Andy Reid will have the team prepared to bash the warm-weather Texans in the trenches. The Chiefs have had two weeks to rest its starters, so expect a heavy workload for Pacheco.

During the Chiefs’ last two Super Bowl runs, Pacheco has never finished below double-digit rush attempts in the playoffs. Pacheco has been a workhorse, and he gallops like one too. If the Chiefs ice this game, it will be on the legs of Pacheco late so put him in your online bet.

PLAYER PROP PICK: Isiah Pacheco OVER 10½ rush attempts (-115)

2. Texans TE Dalton Schultz OVER 4½ receptions (+114)

The second NFL expert pick today will be on Texans veteran tight end Dalton Schultz to exceed his receptions total of 3½.

With the addition of Stefon Diggs in the offseason, the veteran tight end slid further down the pecking order among C.J. Stroud’s top targets. However, one thing we always see this time of the year is the battle of attrition. Houston is losing that fight on the offensive side of the ball entering this matchup.

Last week, the Texans lost backup tight end Cade Stover and released Diontae Johnson, per NFL news. Diggs was lost for the season after suffering a torn ACL in Week 8. In the Texans’ previous matchup with Kansas City in Week 16, wide receiver Tank Dell suffered a devastating knee injury. The Texans are simply low on viable receiving options for Stroud and the offense.

I expect Schultz to be heavily utilized in the game plan. He ran the second-highest percentage of routes in the Wild Card matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, behind only Nico Collins.

The Chiefs allowed the third-most receptions during the regular season to opposing tight ends, per NFL betting trends. In the aforementioned Week 16 meeting, Schultz finished with five receptions for 45 yards on eight targets. The eight targets tied a season-high. We can expect a similar showing from him this Saturday.

Fire up Schultz with confidence and back him in your NFL predictions.

PLAYER PROP PICK:: Dalton Schultz over 4½ receptions (+114)
