The Detroit Lions’ stacked offense, led by Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown and the “Sonic and Knuckles” backfield, mirrors the legendary Dallas Cowboys’ “Triplets.” With their explosive playmaking and red-zone dominance, the Lions are poised to pierce the defense of the W.

The Lions are firing on all cylinders, making these NFL player prop picks must-haves: Goff’s passing totals, St. Brown’s touchdown odds and Montgomery’s scoring prowess. Don’t miss out on Detroit in this Divisional Round.

3 Best Bets for Commanders vs Lions Player, TD Props
1. Lions QB Jared Goff Under 2.5 Passing TDs (-189)
Goff does not need to throw too many passes to win this game for Detroit. Granted, the NFL odds here are a tad too long but still worth betting. The 30-year-old has thrown 37 touchdowns this season on just 539 attempts. That 6.9% touchdown rate ranks him third. And he’s thrown for 2+ TDs in seven of his last nine games.
However, Goff also averages fewer than two passing touchdowns in his playoff career. He’s only thrown eight TDs in nine playoff appearances, per Commanders vs Lions stats. Last season, he threw four touchdowns in three playoffs games. Goff is one of the greatest game managers. He’s playing behind an all-time great offensive line and a stacked offense.
All Goff needs to do is play efficiently. He’ll make the right throws and not do too much. As such, we favor him to go under his passing totals here, including under 2.5 passing TDs. Bet online on the under.
Player Prop: Jared Goff – Under (2.5) Passing TDs (-189)
2. Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown Anytime Touchdown (-125)
We have to talk about his favorite target when we speak of Goff. St. Brown has caught 12 of Goff’s touchdown throws this season and scored one in three of his last four games. The All-Pro receiver has been Detroit’s heartbeat as his swagger and skills pace the offense. We’re betting him to score a touchdown as part of our NFL props plays.
St. Brown was relatively quiet in last season’s postseason run. He scored one touchdown in three games, though he did make 22 catches for 274 yards. Against Washington, St. Brown faces a stingy defense that gives up just under one receiving touchdown per game against receivers.
But St. Brown should still command the lion’s share of targets from Goff. And he’s still the top red-zone target as he’s hauled in 23 receptions for nine touchdowns here. Tight end Sam LaPorta is a distant runner-up with 11 catches for five TDs. Bet St. Brown to score.
Player Prop: Amon-Ra St. Brown 1+ TDs (-125)

3. Lions RB David Montgomery Anytime Touchdown
Sonic and Knuckles are back! With David Montgomery’s return from injury, we can bank on Detroit’s running back tandem to wreak havoc against Washington. Gibbs and Montgomery have scored 32 of Detroit’s 68 offensive touchdowns, per NFL betting trends. There’s a reason why they have such short odds to score TDs, but they’re worth adding.
While Gibbs is a likelier TD threat, Montgomery has a longer line. It could be a bigger bang for our buck, especially since he’s the bigger red-zone scorer. Montgomery and Gibbs have each carried the ball 49 times inside the 20. The former has scored 12 touchdowns against the latter’s 10 and he averaged 3.3 yards against 2.9.
Fair play: Gibbs is more involved as a pass-catcher as he’s caught nine of 12 targets versus just three from Montgomery. Still, Montgomery is a solid NFL prediction to score.
Player Prop: David Montgomery – 1+ TDs (-167)
