There are always a few quarterback performances that stand out in the first week of the NFL season which can make you some cash.
Those who put their green on Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa last season against the Los Angeles Chargers probably made a killing with their bets online. Tagovailoa threw for 466 yards and three scores in a 36-34 victory.
The Dolphins’ quarterback could have another good matchup this season as Miami hosts Sunshine State-rival Jacksonville. The Jaguars gave up the seventh most yards per game through the air last season.
Buffalo’s Josh Allen and Joe Burrow of Cincinnati could have good matchups in the first week as well while several others may get off to a good start. Justin Herbert of the Chargers is a good bet to emerge with the help of new coach Jim Harbaugh.
First-overall draft pick Caleb Williams may be another interesting bet at BetUS Sportsbook. The USC product has looked strong in the preseason for the Chicago Bears and he has some solid weapons in the receiver room.
Let’s take a look at some QB bets to make in Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season.
2024 NFL Week 1: Betting Tips for QB Props
Expect Tua and Dolphins to Put Up Numbers
Tagovailoa could not be stopped in the opener last season, driving the Dolphins down the field for the winning score in the final minutes.
One year earlier, Tagovailoa threw for 469 yards and six scores in Week 2 at Baltimore. The Alabama product appears to like putting up big numbers in the early season and he should be pumped up after signing a new four-year contract.

Both of those games were on the road and now Tagovailoa gets to showcase his skills at home with Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill, Odell Beckam Jr., and others as targets. He had 17 TD passes and six interceptions while completing 71.6 percent of his passes in 2023 at home.
Yardage is always a tough call, but your best NFL bet is probably 2+ TD passes for Tagovailoa.

Allen Good Bet to Make First Week Statement
Many NFL expert picks have the Buffalo Bills slipping a bit this season. Quarterback Josh Allen will want to change that narrative.
Allen lost Stefon Diggs as his top target, so he will be spreading the ball around much more in 2024. That may be an advantage if Allen can refine his game and avoid trying to do too much.
The strong-armed QB should have a big day at home in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. While Arizona may be better than its 4-13 record a year ago, it allowed the second-most points per game (26.8) in 2023.
The Wyoming product is 35-13 in his career at home and 4-1 against the NFC West. The last time the two teams met was in 2020 and 62 points were scored.
Alen was fourth in the league in total passing yards last year and tied for fifth in TD strikes. He also ran for a career-high 15 scores. You can count on him to put up touchdowns against the Cardinals and he should be part of your NFL prop betting.
Healthy Burrow Good Bet for Strong Start
It’s certainly not a wild NFL prediction, but we think Joe Burrow is primed to lead the Bengals back into AFC title contention.
Burrow was never fully healthy last year and he appears to be ready to burst out of the gate in 2024 if his offensive line can keep him on his feet.
I can’t get over how easy it was for Joe Burrow to march down the field and put up 7 points last night.

Cincinnati opens with the New England Patriots, who could be better down the road under new coach Jerod Mayo but are a work in progress. Burrow threw for 375 yards and three scores in his only matchup versus New England.
Burrow also has good numbers versus the AFC East (4-1, 13 TD passes, three INT) and the over was 5-0 in the last five games the Bengals were favorites in last year. Expect a few TD strikes from the LSU product.
Hebert/Harbaugh Combo a Good Bet
Justin Herbert regressed a bit last year, but he has too much talent not to rebound in 2024.
We expect him to announce that in the opener against the AFC West rival Las Vegas. Herbert is just 4-3 against the Raiders in his career but has 15 TD strikes and only two interceptions.
Herbert had 69 TD passes his first two seasons, but went down to 25 in 2022 and 20 last year across 13 games. He has a foot issue right now, so keep your eye on NFL injury news, but we think he is a good bet against the Raiders.
Following yesterday’s practice, Justin Herbert was diagnosed with an injury to the plantar fascia in his right foot.
Doctors have recommended approximately two weeks in a boot — followed by a graduated return to play protocol — with the expectation that he will be ready for the…

If the injury sidelines Herbert, you might want to try Caleb Williams at home versus Tennessee or even Daniel Jones versus Minnesota as wild cards with better NFL odds.
