Pivotal Battle in NFC West

Top up your Week 15 NFL betting thrills with a Thursday Night Football, same-game parlay featuring the Seattle Seahawks (7-6-0) and the San Francisco 49ers (9-4-0) in a pivotal battle for the NFC West.

The Niners ride the momentum of a six-game winning streak while the Seahawks look to bounce back from a Week 14 loss. The Niners are riding high in the NFC West and are a win away from wrapping up the division title. The host Seahawks are mired in a heated battle for the NFC Wild Card spots.

Even though a lot is at stake for both of these rivals, it’s the 49ers that have earned (quite rightly) the favorable nod here. But there are a few market surprises as we look at the latest Week 15 NFL odds board, two of which we’ve seized upon for this primetime same-game parlay.

Read on to find out how and why we’re combining our bets as follows.

Let’s check the latest NFL odds, stats, injury reports, and NFL lines for the 49ers vs Seahawks. We’ve plenty of Vegas NFL odds and NFL week 15 picks for you to consider.

49ers vs Seahawks Same-Game Parlay

  • First Leg: 49ers – 3½ (-110)
  • Second Leg: Over 43½ (-110)

Same-Game Parlay Odds Calculated: +264

First Leg: 49ers -3½ (-110)

Despite San Francisco’s success and Seattle’s struggles of late, the point spread is set on a tight 3½-point line. This feels light as far as the Niners are concerned. Thus, it makes up the first part of our two-leg parlay.

Brock Piurdy led the Niners in victory for a second straight week. Last Sunday, however, marked his first NFL career start, though no beginners’ nerves were detectable as he stewarded San Francisco’s 35-7 walloping of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Purdy was remarkably mistake-free and supremely calm as he shined like a bona fide star in the face of Tampa Bay’s stout defense. He went 16 of 21 and put up a total of 182 yards and three touchdowns. Star running back Christian McCaffrey continues to make his mark on the team, adding 153 total yards and two touchdowns to help lift the Niners to the lopsided victory over Tom Brady and Co.

The Seahawks have dropped three of their last four games and two in a row at Lumen Field. This poor run of form is connected, in part, to a conspicuous regression in Geno Smith’s performance as he’s thrown four costly interceptions in the last three weeks. This contrasts with Smith’s four interceptions in Seattle’s first 10 games, which yielded a 6-4 straight-up record.

The Niners beat the Seahawks 27-7 in Week 2, coming through as the firm -8½ closing favorites in convincing fashion. Granted, that was then when an experienced veteran like Jimmy Garoppolo was leading the offense. But unless you were living under a rock, the rookie has been Purdy-special. The Niners should win this one in a big way and cover this spread with a margin.

  • San Francisco is 8-5-0 ATS in its last 13 games
  • San Francisco is 2-3-0 ATS in its last five road games
  • Seattle is 6-7-0 ATS in its last 13 games
  • Seattle is 3-3-0 ATS in its last six home games

Second Leg: Over 43½ (-110)

The total is a modest 43½ points, paying homage to the Niners’ elite defense, more or less. However, the Seahawks do have the personnel to put up the points, as do the Niners.

The Seahawks are among the top-scoring teams in the league with an average of 26.3 points per game. In the last three games, they’ve averaged 28.3 ppg. The 49er’s offense isn’t too far behind, averaging 24.4 ppg on the season and 27 ppg in the last three.

Obviously, the elephant in the room is Niner’s defense. They are ranked top in the league, allowing the fewest points per game (15.2). Most recently, they enjoyed a stellar performance against the Buccaneers, holding Brady and Tampa Bay to a paltry seven points.

But precisely because of their superhuman efforts on Sunday, the quick turnaround for this important Week 15 game is bound to take its toll. The Seahawks offense is methodical and efficient and players like Tyler Lockett are sure to give the 49ers the runaround.

Taking all things into the formula – the potency of both offenses, the error-prone ways of Smith’s quarterbacking lately, and the sheer unpredictability of a rookie quarterback playing in front of the notorious 12s – and these factors add up to a high-scoring game.
