NFL Week 1 O/U Predictions & Picks
Commanders vs Lions – O/U 48½
Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX
Lookahead NFL betting lines had this game projected on 44 points or thereabouts, but with both sides coming off high-scoring affairs in Week 1, the NFL line jumped up to 48½ points. Carson Wentz and Jared Goff are playing for their NFL futures. Both signal callers can move the ball and they’re also prone to mistakes. Expect a topsy-turvy high-scoring game here.
PICK: Over 48 ½ (-110)

Panthers vs Giants – O/U 44
Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX
Although the Giants are coming off a 21-20 win over the Titans, with Saquon Barkley dialing back the clock and running up a total of 194 yards from scrimmage, their offense still has a lonng way to go. And Daniel Jones is still a wild card at quarterback.
Baker Mayfield and the Panthers offense struggled to get things going in a sloppy revenge game against his former team, the Cleveland Browns. If Week 1 were any indication, the Mayfield’s Panthers will be going through growing pains for some time.
PICK: Under 44 (-110)
Colts vs Jaguars– O/U 45½
Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS
Matt Ryan’s debut with the Colts resulted in a 20-20 tie with the Houston Texans, extending the Colts’ losing streak in Week 1 to eight. The Jaguars are coming off a 28-22 loss to the Washington Commanders in the nation’s capital that was marred by a ton of offensive errors that cost them dearly. The upshot: neither offense inspires confidence ahead of this Week 2 matchup.
PICKS: Under 45½ (-110)
Dolphins vs Ravens – O/U 44½
Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS
Lamar Jackson is playing for his contract. He had a stellar showing against the woeful New York Jets in Week 1 as he led the Ravens to the lopsided 24-9 win. The Dolphins, meanwhile, beat the New England Patriots 20-7.
PICK: Under 44 ½ (-110)
Falcons vs Rams – O/U 46½
Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET, FOX
The Los Angeles Rams got off to a terrible start, losing to the Buffalo Bills 31-10 in Thursday Night Football. The fact that the Rams offense didn’t distinguish itself is the most concerning aspect of this Week 1 loss. They have the perfect match (on paper) to get back on track. The Falcons offense is potent but it’s defense is as porous as Swiss cheese.
PICKS: Over 46½ (-110)

Seahawks vs 49ers – O/U 40½
Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET, FOX
The Niners are in trouble. If Week 1 were any indication of what fans are to expect from the hyped-up Trey Lance era, then it’s going to be a long season.
PICK: Under 40½ (-110)
Bengals vs Cowboys – O/U 41½
Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS
The Bengals struggled to get going in Week 1 and paid the price, losing to the Steelers 23-20 in overtime. Expect Joe Burrow & Co. to capitalize on a Dak-less Cowboys in Week 2 and remind football fans just how potent their offense can be.
PICK: Over 41½
Vikings vs Eagles – O/U 50½
Monday, 8:30 p.m. ET, CBS
The Vikings’ offense was firing on all cylinders in Week 1. Similarly, the Eagles seemed to be able to score at will. Considering their respective season openers, this could be the popcorn match of the week that delivers a ton of scoring.
PICK: Over 50½ (-110)
