NFL Week 3 Under of the Week

Betting the under in the totals is hardly as fun as betting the overs. But sometimes it’s a little more straightforward and as simple as fading the horrible team or betting the defensive juggernaut. There is a little bit of both happening this week per the NFL betting odds so we sampled three games and picked one to be our NFL Under of the Week.

Three Games, One Locked To Go Under

Second Runner-Up: Jets (0-2) at Broncos (2-0)

When: Sunday (4:05 p.m. ET)

Totals: 41½ -110o/-110u

This would be the top choice on the sportsbook to go under except the total is awfully low at 41½, the lowest of the week in fact. You have the perpetually woeful Jets and their 10-points-per-game average against the Broncos’ top-five defense.

The Jets have been taken through the ringer by two fierce defenses and will now get a third one while playing at the notoriously tough Empower Field at Mile High. Poor Zach Wilson. The No. 2 overall draft pick may be in for another rough game given that his offensive line’s only purpose is to go viral by getting roasted by a 12-year-old on TikTok.

New York’s defense is solid, but it’s probable that the turnover-prone offense could yield points for Denver. The Broncos may just cover 80 percent of the total by themselves. They may even beat the Jets 42-0 and sink everyone betting the under. Never underestimate the Jets’ incompetence.

First Runner-Up: Washington (1-1) at  Bills (1-1)

When: Sunday (1 p.m. ET)

Totals: 45½ -110o/-110u

Two defensive teams meet in Buffalo and all signs point to a low-scoring, grind-out affair. Six of Washington’s last eight games have gone under and now it faces the Bills, who are fresh off a 35-0 shutout of the Miami Dolphins. Buffalo only allowed 21½ points at home last season and they look much improved up front with its pass rush.

On the offensive side, Bills quarterback Josh Allen is struggling and averaging just 5.35 yards per attempt with a 77.9 passer rating. He’ll continue to struggle here as the Football Team’s fierce pass rush pressures him all game.

Buffalo’s neglected running game should also get stuffed by one of the best front sevens. This game is actually closer when betting online for a side and it’s hard to see either team blow the other one out. It would be the Under of the Week if it wasn’t for …

Under of Week: Cardinals (2-0) at Jaguars (0-2)

When: Sunday (1 p.m. ET)

Spread: 51½ -110o/-110u

With a total set at 51½, we had to make the Cardinals-Jaguars game the Under of the Week. Sure, Arizona has been red-hot lately. Its 36 points per game rank second in the NFL and it is facing a Jaguars team that is giving up 30 a game.

But six of the Cardinals’ last nine games have gone under as well as their last seven road games. The Cardinals may be dynamite as an NFL pick against the spread, but they tend to disappoint fans when it comes to going over the total.

Jacksonville also has one of the worst offenses in the NFL, averaging just 17 points. The Cardinals have an intense pass rush and limited opposing quarterbacks to a 91.5 passer rating last season. Jaguars rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence will once again be under siege as his team struggles to put up points in what should be an underwhelming game.

Pick: Cardinals-Jaguars – Under 51½ (-110)
