We’re back with our NFL Over of the Week pick and Week 6 presents a glut of games from which to choose. Several terrible defenses will be matched up against high-powered offenses. It’s not an exaggeration to predict that this week may be the highest scoring yet. The NFL betting odds have nine of the 14 games with totals at 47 points or higher. We’ll look at three this Sunday.
Week 6: Let It Rip
Cincinnati Bengals at Detroit Lions
When: Sunday (1 p.m. ET)
Totals: Over 47
In this battle among felines, look for the game to be high scoring and the total at 47 is a wee bit low. Yes, five of the Bengals’ last six games have gone under, as well as Detroit’s last three games. But there is a strong likelihood that the Lions’ porous defense mixed with Cincinnati’s electric offense can light up the scoreboard.
Detroit averages 25 points at home and allows 30, averaging 55 total points in home games. The Bengals are only putting up 20.5 points on the road. But they faced Chicago and Pittsburgh, two of the tougher defenses in the NFL. The Lions’ defense is no pushover, but its offense is so good at making its life harder.
the lions posted a “happy birthday to jared goff” on their instagram and the top comment is “what’s he turning? the ball over?” 😭

Over 50 percent of NFL predictions have this game going under, but it may even finish as one of the highest scoring games of the week. Of course, this is still the Lions we are talking about. If they go out there and lay an egg we won’t be shocked, hence why it only gets an honorable mention.
Buffalo Bills at Tennessee Titans
When: Monday (8:15 p.m. ET)
Spread: Over 53½
The Bills are the hottest team in the NFL outside of the Arizona Cardinals. They just took out the Kansas City Chiefs in impressive fashion and have the NFL’s best offense, scoring 34.4 points per game. Buffalo gets Tennessee, another prolific offense that is struggling a bit right now.
Tennessee is still recovering offensively, but if star receiver Julio Jones is back in the lineup, that can give the Titans a boost. Both Buffalo and Tennessee are adept at reaching scoring position. The Bills are tied for first in red zone scoring attempts (4.8) while Tennessee is fourth at 4.6.
Additionally, these teams have been great at covering the over in the totals. The over has hit in six of Buffalo’s last 10 road games and in six of Tennessee’s last seven games as an underdog. This would be a solid sports bet but we’re not entirely confident in Tennessee’s offense.
Over of Week: Kansas City Chiefs at Washington
When: Sunday (1 p.m. ET)
Totals: Over 54½
The Chiefs have to be angry. Everyone is burying them, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes. But this is still one of the elite offenses in the league and it averaged 33.5 points before running into the Bills, the NFL’s top defense. Against lesser teams, Mahomes and Co. will cook. And FedEx Field will be their kitchen.
The Football Team has been anything but an elite defense. Heck, it’s not even an average defense, having allowed the second-most points and fourth-most plays. Against an explosive Chiefs’ offense, the Football Team will allow 30-plus points for the fourth straight game.
However, Washington won’t be a sitting duck. Not entirely. Taylor Heinicke and the offense will get to work and put up points against Kansas City’s equally terrible defense. The 55 points is the highest total of the week. Bet online for it to be even higher.
