NFL Week 8 Teaser Basket (6-point Teasers)

Current Line —> Teaser Leg

Bengals -7½ —> tease down to -1½

Jaguars +1 —> tease up to +7

Commanders +3 —> tease up to +9
Lions +3½ —> tease up to +9½

Falcons +3 —> tease up to +9

Rams +3 —> tease up to +9

Seahawks +1 —> tease up to +7

Saints +2½ —> tease up to +8½

Packers vs Lions +3½ —> tease up to +9½

In previous years, this storied NFC North matchup would have been a no-brainer, and nobody would have thought twice about laying -3½ with the Green Bay Packers. But the defending NFC North champs are a far cry from their lofty selves of yesteryears. They’re wholly off form and color, riding an eye-popping four-game skid –a first in the Matt Fleur era.

The Packers are 3-5 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS), with a 3.5 losing margin no less during the first half of the season. They lost to the New York Giants (27-22), the New York Jets (27-10), the Washington Commanders (23-21), and the Buffalo Bills 27-17.

Aaron Rodgers and Co. are, without a doubt, the better team in this matchup. And they might also come through as the road favorites to win here. However, the -3½ NFL line doesn’t add up.

The Detroit Lions are 1-5-1 SU and 3-4-0 ATS, with a 7.4 losing margin on average this season. They might have the ignominious honor of being the worst team in the league as far as their win-loss record is concerned. Nevertheless, they’re a slightly better 1-3 SU and 2-2-0 ATS at home with a 0.3 losing margin on average.

Each of the Lions’ losses at home was decided by four points or less. They’ve clearly been more competitive at Ford Field, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

This season has been unpredictable. Just when you think you’ve got a team sussed, something happens to challenge your preconceived notions. Still, the way the Packers are playing right now, they simply don’t deserve to be favored on the road by more than a field goal. So, give us the Lions with the extra six-point wiggle room to play with.

Pick: Lions +9½

Ravens vs Saints +2½ —> tease up to +8½

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road in Thursday Night Football (Week 8). The same week saw the New Orleans Saints shut out the Las Vegas Raiders 24-0 on Sunday’s round of football.

With both sides riding a winning momentum into this Monday Night Football showdown, the markets have rolled out a rather tight NFL betting online line with the Ravens installed as the -2½ road favorites.

On the face of it, the Ravens appear to be in the midst of a good season. They’re 5-3 SU and first in the AFC North. They are also 3-4-1 ATS with a 3.1 winning margin on average. However, they’ve had some ups and downs. Most notably, they suffered a series of late-game collapses that saw them frit away significant leads and lose the game.

The Saints are 3-5-0 SU and ATS with a 0.1 losing margin on average. At home, they’re 2-2-0 ATS with a 4.3 winning margin on average. They’ve gone 2-3 SU and 3-2-0 ATS in their last five games.

Andy Dalton and the Saints’ offense had their best game yet, with Alvin Kamara putting up 150 yards and three touchdowns. The defense was absolutely crushing, stifling the Raiders in the air and on the ground.

Given everything, it’s easy to see why the markets have this game projected on a tight NFL line. The only concern with the Saints is their inconsistency and Andy Dalton’s poor record in primetime games. If both these things rear their ugly heads, this game might not be as close as the NFL odds would have it, so the extra six-point wiggle room would come in handy.

Pick: Saints +8½
