You know who I wouldn’t want to be this weekend? Someone who has anything to do with the Rams’ defense. The San Francisco 49ers will play extremely ticked off with NFL pundits counting out the defending NFC champs.
The Rams’ defense has been below-average against the pass. Per Rams vs 49ers stats, Los Angeles ranks 25th in defensive success rate (42.3%) and in the bottom six in yards allowed per reception (11.4), yards allowed per coverage snap (6.95), and yards allowed per coverage target (8.7).
Wide receivers have gone bonkers against this defense. Last week, we watched Buffalo’s Khalil Shakir post 106 yards on five grabs. Deebo is having a mediocre season by his standards but should add a big day on Thursday night.
The Rams play zone at a top-five rate, and Deebo has eaten up defenses that run zone throughout his career. Samuel has exceeded this line in six of his last seven games against the Rams. In his last four Thursday night appearances, Deebo has finished with 102, 79, 129, and 159 receiving yards.

The final NFL bet today to include in this parlay will be for the 49ers to win this game. The Rams are traveling on a short week and are coming off their most emotional win of the season. They went back and forth on Sunday and outlasted Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills 44-42 in the highest-scoring game of the 2024 NFL season.
However, this leads us to believe they could be primed for a letdown. The 49ers will do their best to bully the Rams on a physical level after they managed to coast by the Bears just four days ago. The Rams’ defense has the fourth-worst EPA per dropback allowed, so Brock Purdy should carry his momentum from the 325-yard, two-touchdown showing in Week 14.
The betting public is backing the Rams as road underdogs, but this line suggests that the 49ers, with a worse record, are the correct side. Despite their laundry list of injuries, San Francisco has a better EPA per play and is seventh in team total DVOA.
