Rams vs Eagles Alternate Odds: Back LA in Low-Scoring Game January 19

A much-anticipated rematch between the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles has higher stakes, with a spot in the NFC Championship Game on the line. Philadelphia easily handled Los Angeles when they met earlier in the season, 37-20, but Matthew Stafford’s Rams are 5-1 and 4-2 as an NFL pick against the spread in the playoffs.

3 Betting Picks For Rams vs Eagles

1. Rams ALT Spread +10½ (-225)

You can tease the Rams’ original spread from +6 to +9 or +9½ or go with this alternate spread. At -225, it’s not the most offensive of NFL lines since it covers a 10-point loss.

The Eagles smoked Los Angeles by 17 in Week 12, but that game was a turning point for the Rams. Since that defeat, the Rams finished unbeaten (if we exclude the final game where they played their backups).

The Eagles have also been on fire and have lost just once since their bye in Week 5, going 13-1. However, dealing with Sean McVay and Stafford in the playoffs is another matter. The Rams’ defense has been stellar since getting healthy. And with both star receivers in the lineup, the Los Angeles offense has consistently found ways to win.

This won’t be a blowout like the regular-season game. The Rams may even win this, though we still give Philadelphia the edge partly due to the weather. At the least, back the Rams to cover +10½ points.

Bet on Rams +10½ (-225)

2. Rams vs Eagles Under 38½ (+175)

Speaking of the ugly weather, we’re going even lower than the regular total of 43½ points with our NFL predictions for today. This game has the makings of a 20-13 final score.

The Rams are a warm-weather team that plays in a dome, while the Eagles will continue to pound their running game. We may see long stretches of this game where neither team scores a touchdown.

The totals have already gone under in four of Los Angeles’ last five games and five of Philadelphia’s last seven. Credit their defenses, which have carried them even when their offenses get stagnant.

Per the Rams vs Eagles stats, Philadelphia has the second-best scoring defense, limiting opponents to 17.8 points per game. Meanwhile, the Rams have held eight of their last 12 opponents to 20 points or fewer.

Philadelphia did score 37 on them but we don’t see this happening again. Bet online on the total to go under 38½ points in this alternate line.

Bet on Rams vs Eagles Under 38½ (+175)

3. Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Under 199½ Passing Yards (-114)

This is a curious line on Jalen Hurts. Why will he pass for 200 or more yards here? We could have blustery conditions, which will be a detriment to the passing game.

Secondly, Hurts only averages 193.5 passing yards per game and under 155 passing yards in three playoff wins.

Additionally, the Rams’ starters have held opposing quarterbacks to under 200 passing yards in four of their last seven games. Hurts only goes over his passing yards total if Philadelphia falls behind or gets embroiled in a high-scoring shootout. Neither of these will happen on Sunday.

This is one of the NFL picks that seems too obvious: Bet the under to get a wagering win.

Bet on Jalen Hurts Under 199½ Passing Yards (-114)

Question of the Day

How many passing yards do the Rams give up when playing on the road?

The Los Angeles Rams allow 215.4 passing yards on average when playing as a visitor.
