As we head into NFL Week 9, the Rams are set to face the Seahawks in a crucial NFC West showdown. With the Rams holding a slight edge as -1-point favorites in the NFL lines, their recent form is promising. After two consecutive wins, the Rams appear to be hitting their stride, especially now that they’re as healthy as they’ve been all season.

With Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua returning to the field last week, Matthew Stafford seems revitalized, and LA is aiming to extend its winning streak against a Seattle team that just suffered a humbling 31-10 loss to the Bills. Seattle’s been stuck in a rut, losing four of its last five games and failing to leverage its home-field advantage.

With significant issues on both sides of the ball, particularly when trying to protect Geno Smith in the pocket, the Seahawks are facing an uphill battle against a Rams team trending upward.

The Rams are the best bet to cover the -1 NFL odds in this crucial NFC West matchup.

2 Things to Consider When Betting Rams vs Seahawks

1. LA Offense is Fully Loaded

The Rams have transformed into a formidable team, especially with their top receiving duo back in action. The return of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua from injuries has immediately boosted the offense. However, Nacua did exit Thursday’s practice with a knee issue to monitor NFL news for updates on his status.

Last week, Stafford, with his go-to targets back, exploded against the Vikings with 279 passing yards and four touchdowns. This kind of offensive prowess should excite bettors about the Rams’ potential to exploit the Seahawks’ defensive weaknesses.

Kyren Williams has also been a significant factor in the Rams’ offense, especially near the end zone. With eight rushing touchdowns, he’s the second-highest scorer in the league in this category, and his ability to finish drives could be a deciding factor.

Seattle’s defense ranks 22nd overall and has been particularly vulnerable against the run. With Williams in the backfield, the Rams can apply pressure on multiple fronts, forcing Seattle’s defense to spread thin, trying to cover both the ground and air attacks.

Despite ranking low in yards per rush gained, the Rams’ offense is balanced enough to exploit the Seahawks’ weaknesses and cash in our Week 9 NFL predictions.

2. Home Struggles Plague Smith, Seahawks

Smith may have racked up a respectable 2,197 passing yards this season, but the accompanying seven interceptions have proven costly. Smith has one of the best receiver trios in the game with DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, but his passing accuracy has suffered and turnovers have stalled Seattle’s offensive momentum.

Metcalf’s questionable status due to a knee injury only complicates matters further, as the Seahawks‘ offensive output dipped considerably last week in his absence.

Smith’s record at home has been abysmal and his passer rating at Lumen Field is 16 points lower than on the road. With a 3-9 mark against the spread (ATS) mark in his last 12 home games, he’s the NFL’s least profitable QB on home turf. When facing Sean McVay’s Rams, Smith is 1-3 ATS, failing to cover the NFL spread by an average of 6.3 points per game.

Seattle’s once-imposing home-field advantage has been slipping, with the Seahawks going 0-2 ATS as home underdogs this season.

The Rams’ defense is primed to disrupt Seattle’s offensive flow, and with Geno’s tendency to throw picks, the Rams may have ample opportunities to swing the game in their favor.

Rams vs Seahawks Prediction: Bet Rams ATS

Like a hit of good acid, this Rams team is peaking at the right time, with crucial offensive players back and a defense finding its rhythm. Seattle’s recent performances show a team struggling to find consistency, especially at home. With Smith’s home record leaving much to be desired and the Seahawks’ inability to stop the run, the Rams have a clear edge for NFL picks.

While Seattle will try to bounce back after last week’s humiliating loss to the Bills, it’s hard to see them slowing down a Rams team that’s getting hot at the right time.
