SNF Best Anytime Touchdown Scorer: 2 Top Props for Raiders vs Jets

With another action-packed Sunday on tap, we will end the day with an interesting Sunday Night Football matchup in Week 10. We have two teams who have experienced an incredibly rocky first half of the 2023 season. The Jets had Super Bowl aspirations at the start of the season, but those hopes were immediately tossed into the blender in Week 1. New York’s playoff hopes are still alive, and the Jets continue to play their tails off every week, hoping that Aaron Rodgers can make an unprecedented quick return from his injury later this season.

Without Rodgers under center, the Jets’ passing game has been putrid so far with Zach Wilson. New York has the third-worst passing game in the NFL, averaging 169.5 yards per game. One of the obvious NFL prop bets every week has been the under on Zach Wilson’s passing yards. The Jets desperately need Wilson to produce in softer matchups like this one if they want a chance to make the playoffs down the stretch.

Somehow, the Raiders have remained afloat and come into Week 10 with a 4-5 record; meanwhile, the Jets are 4-4. Last week, the Raiders crushed the New York Giants 30-6 after firing their general manager and head coach. Ironically, a former Giant, Antonio Pierce, has taken over as the interim head coach for the Raiders. The firing of Josh McDaniels and the victory in Week 9 appears to have injected some life into the Raiders locker room.

A loss this week for either team will give some clarity to the direction both will be headed the rest of the season. I’ve covered how loaded the AFC is this season, so a loss here will make it an even steeper climb to the postseason. I’m expecting this game to be entertaining despite the mediocre quarterback play with so much on the line.

Here is a look at the latest NFL betting lines on the total for Sunday Night Football. The current NFL odds have the total for this clash at 36½ points. That is the lowest mark of any game this week! Even the ugly Thursday night matchup between the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers closed with a higher total.

The NFL point spread had the Jets as slight one-point favorites before the line moved to a pick’em. The offenses are on the different end of the spectrum in terms of pace. Las Vegas is actually one of the slowest-paced offenses in the NFL and has the highest neutral rushing rate. Surprisingly, the Jets are the third quickest in pace and in the top half in passing rate, even with Wilson at the helm. The talent for these two franchises right now at the quarterback position is extremely questionable, but the pieces around them are quite good.

As touchdown bettors, it’s important to stay level-headed. I will remind you once again how difficult scoring has been to come by so far in 2023. The total has gone under in more than 62% of games in the first half of the season and even more frequently in primetime games. Primetime spots have gone under the total 23 of 30 games – that’s a 76% hit rate. This season has been difficult for anyone betting on scoring markets like us NFL player prop bettors do.

Despite the struggles, I will always trust that the research I do and bankroll management will be the major keys to success at the end of the season. The good news is we are at the halfway point of the season, and we have all of the info available now on every NFL team we can use with our NFL picks. It’s crazy how quickly the NFL season flies by.

If you are a new rider on the touchdown train, you must know that I will always play this game smart. We’re not going to shoot blindly and throw noodles at the wall to see if they stick just because a player’s odds are long to score. The research I’ve done will always back up the reasoning behind my touchdown scorer bets.

As the conductor of the touchdown train, I’ve once again narrowed down the best options for anytime touchdown scorers for you here on Sunday Night Football in Week 10. Let’s get to the best bets for the Las Vegas Raiders vs. New York Jets. Best of luck if you tail!

Jets vs Raiders Best Anytime TD Scorer Bets

Breece Hall (+110)

First and foremost, I need to remind you that Zach Wilson and Aidan O’Connell are strictly being asked to be game managers. The matchup simply doesn’t inspire any confidence in either quarterback to produce. O’Connell and the Raiders passing game are in for a long night against the Jet’s secondary. New York has allowed the second-lowest yards per attempt and zero receiving touchdowns to opposing wide receivers. The trio of Sauce Gardener, D.J. Reed, and Michael Carter II have been incredible. If you’re thinking about Jakobi Meyers, who has had a great first half, I recommend caution as O’Connell isn’t looking his way to the hyper extent that Jimmy Garoppolo was.

Garrett Wilson is the Jets top pass catcher, but he will be matched up with the savvy veteran Marcus Peters often. Wilson is being peppered with targets, but the likelihood of the Raiders doubling him in the red zone is extremely high.

Breece Hall should be able to trample the Raiders’ suspect run defense. Taking Hall’s NFL player props on Sunday night is probably the best look for this game. Las Vegas is allowing over 150 total yards per game to opposing running backs. Hall has been unleashed over the last month, with over 20 touches per game over that span. Hall is top 10 in forced missed tackles and explosive run rate. He ranks No. 1 in the NFL in yards after contact per attempt.

The Raiders defense is in the bottom half in yards after contact and explosive runs allowed – a perfect recipe for Hall to have a huge night. Much like the ugly Thursday Night Football game where we rolled with D’Onta Foreman to score, I’m doing the same Sunday night, trusting the guy staring us right in the face. I’d only take Breece to score if you can lock him in at even money (+100) or better.

Tyler Conkin (+450)

Last Monday night, I rolled with Conklin, and he was tackled down at the 2-yard line. The Raiders’ best defensive strength is similar to the Chargers, and it is the ability to rush the passer. Maxx Crosby has been a problem this season. The Jets’ offensive line is in shambles, and that showed last week in their loss to the Chargers with Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack creating havoc all night for Zach Wilson in the pocket. I expect Crosby to be a thorn in the side of New York’s passing game Sunday night.

The Jets’ only recipe to slow the pass rush will be to run the football and block with two tight ends. Hall and the running game are set up well to create some big plays on the ground. This will result in the Jets play-action passing game to get going.

Tyler Conklin plays nearly double the snaps more than the next Jets tight end. Conklin and C.J. Uzomah will be asked to chip Crosby off of the line. The Raiders haven’t allowed a ton of production to tight ends this season, but if the Jets get in the red zone, their next-best option outside of handing the ball to Hall is finding their big tight end. Conklin has had at least five targets in five of eight games this season.

I like taking this shot down the board on Conklin at this price. He hasn’t scored yet in 2023, but he found the end zone three times in back-to-back seasons. I think we finally see Conklin score.
