SNF Best Parlay Picks Week 16: Fade Broncos Duo

The NFL is following up on a Sunday Night Football stinker between the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars with an even worse game featuring the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos.

But bad games have a habit of yielding strong profits when parlaying player props. Being a primetime game, expect guys who don’t usually perform well to get up and, maybe, just maybe, this game won’t be as bad as it looks.

It might not be my best NFL bet this week, but this parlay is a solid addition to any Week 16 betting slip.

Lil’Jordan Humphrey Under 1.5 Receptions (-167)

Denver Broncos WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey continues the football’s storied tradition of fielding players with unique names such as Dick Butkus, General Booty and, my personal favorite, D’Brickashaw Ferguson. With that in mind, I will refer to him as Lil’Jordan only, just like Prince or Cher, and forget he even has a last name. Not because I have to but because I want to.

Now, Lil’Jordan is no superstar, but he hauled in three catches on four targets against the Detroit Lions on Saturday in the Windy City. He also caught a touchdown on third-and-goal to cut the Lions’ lead to “just” 15 points.

I can’t lie. It was a beautiful touchdown catch. But it was his only multi-catch game of the season and just the second time since Week 1 that Lil’Jordan saw more than one target.

Some might see this as a reason to bet online for Lil’Jordan to have another big game, further breaking out. But I see a way for the bookmakers to set his NFL Las Vegas odds higher than they should and try to take money out of your pocket.

Russell Wilson Over 0.5 Interceptions (+100)

My new favorite wideout isn’t alone on the Broncos team regarding players I want to face on Sunday night. Enter quarterback Russell Wilson, who I predict will continue his recent struggles regarding passing the ball to the wrong team.

I love this prop, thanks to the NFL odds at +100, which we can chalk up to the Patriots’ defense. New England’s defense ranks 24th in opponent interceptions thrown percentage (1.84%) and 29th in takeaways per game (1.0). But an average of 1.0 turnovers isn’t zero, and Wilson has been accident-prone lately.

With four picks in his last three games, Wilson has thrown more interceptions in his previous three games than in his nine contests between Weeks 3 and 12. If there was a time to fade him with our NFL picks, it’s now.

NFL Player Prediction: Russell Wilson Over 0.5 Interceptions (+100)

Lil’Jordan to go under 1.5 catches is the best value on Sunday Night Football to not beat the Vegas betting odds.
