Philadelphia Stars (+165)

Few expected the Philadelphia Stars would clinch a spot in the playoffs, let alone reach the inaugural final at the expense of the New Jersey Generals. But here they are. Against the USFL odds, they upset the North Division champions 19-14 in the semifinals on Saturday.

From start to finish, it was a close contest between the North Division rivals. Either side could have won it but, when it mattered the most, the Stars were that little bit better.

Philadelphia’s defense was stout and it came up trumps in the dying seconds of the game, forcing the Generals into a game-ending interception.

However, the momentum-swinging moment came when Maurice Alexander Jr. ran back an 87-yard punt for the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter. It proved to be all the Stars needed to take the unlikely win in the USFL semis.

Birmingham Stallions (-190)

The Birmingham Stallions lived up to their lofty expectations and delivered the lopsided victory over the New Orleans Breakers in the semifinal round last Saturday.

The Breakers started brightly and took the 7-0 lead, but that was the last advantage they enjoyed. Once the Stallions settled into the game, they rode roughshod over the Breakers in the 31-17 win.

Quarterback J’Mar Smith had a standout game, completing 17 of 27 passes for 190 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. He also had 48 yards rushing and a touchdown. Osiris Mitchell toted the ball for 64 yards and a touchdown.

Stars vs Stallions head-to-head

The Philadelphia Stars and Birmingham Stallions collided in Week 5, with the latter delivering the 30-17 win. It marked their fifth straight win and extend their unbeaten run into the second-half of the regular season.

Stars vs Stallions Betting Prediction

If the first meeting between these two sides were any indication, the Philadelphia Stars are in for a long night. The Stallions crushed the Stars convincingly. And they’re expected to do so again.

Betting against the Stallions is a risky play. Granted, a lot has changed. The Stars improved. They’ve played better down the stretch, winning four of their last five games. And they upset the New Jersey Generals, who were riding a nine-game winning streak and were expected to reach the final, per USFL betting markets.

But one thing has stayed constant. That is the Stallions, who’ve been the superior team all season. Now, only one more victory stands between them and the championship title.
