Here we go again. The Kansas City Chiefs are in yet another Super Bowl because, of course, they are. They’re the NFL’s final boss, the Thanos with a quarterback glove instead of an infinity gauntlet.

But the Philadelphia Eagles aren’t going to stand around looking helpless while Patrick Mahomes snaps his fingers and collects another Super Bowl ring. Nope. This is the Eagles’ time to rise, and they’re bringing the underdog energy (and Saquon Barkley) to take down the NFL’s reigning dynasty.
Let’s break down why the Eagles are on the right side of history, my NFL predictions and your betting slip for Super Bowl 5
Prediction and Odds: Eagles 28, Chiefs 24
The Chiefs have been inevitable in the Mahomes era, but history says dynasties eventually run out of gas. Kansas City’s shot at a three-peat ends in New Orleans as the Eagles avenge their Super Bowl 57 heartbreak.
What is the difference this time? Saquon Barkley. Unlike Miles Sanders’ forgettable performance two years ago, expect Barkley to bulldoze through KC’s defense, racking up 100+ yards and at least one touchdown on his way to Super Bowl MVP honors.
The Eagles’ ground game grinds down the clock and when it’s crunch time, Hurts and the infamous tush push keep Mahomes watching from the sideline. Philly wins, ruining Travis Kelce’s perfect postgame proposal. Taylor Swift cries.

2 Reasons to Bet on Eagles to Upset Chiefs
1. Philly’s Run Game is Unstoppable
Let’s talk about the guy who is my bet to be Super Bowl MVP: Saquon Barkley. The dude runs like Indian street food and carves up every defense that tries to do anything about it. He’s coming off a postseason where he’s been averaging 6.7 yards per carry and has 442 rushing yards in three games, per Chiefs vs Eagles stats.
That’s Madden on rookie mode numbers. If you think the Chiefs will just shut him down, I have beachfront property in Kansas to sell you.

Here’s why Barkley’s dominance matters: The Chiefs haven’t allowed a 100-yard rusher in the playoffs since Sony Michel in 2019, a streak of 18 games. But streaks are meant to be broken, NFL news is meant to be made, and Barkley is the man to do it.
The Chiefs’ defensive strategy will likely involve stacking the box, but guess what? That opens things up for Jalen Hurts and Philly’s passing game. It’s pick-your-poison time for Kansas City, and Barkley is a particularly painful venom.
2. Philly Dominating the Turnover Battle
The Eagles aren’t just winning games; they’re stealing possessions. Philadelphia has won the turnover battle 10-0 in three playoff games, per NFL betting trends Let that sink in. The Eagles haven’t turned the ball over once in the postseason, while their defense has been swiping balls like they’re in an Ocean’s Eleven movie.
Turnover differential is one of the biggest predictors of Super Bowl success, and the Eagles are on a historic run. The only other team to win the turnover battle by at least 10 in the playoffs and make the Super Bowl? The 2021 Bengals, who came a play away from winning it all. If the Eagles’ defense keeps up this dominance, they won’t just knock on the door but kick it down.

The two-time defending Super Bowl champions have had their time in the sun, but this game is setting up perfectly for an Eagles upset. They have the more dominant run game and a defense forcing turnovers at an absurd rate. They’ll be in the driver’s seat if they can score first (which they’ve done in seven straight games).
Bet Philly on the moneyline (-102), sprinkle some on Saquon Barkley for MVP in Super Bowl prop bets and enjoy watching a changing of the guard in the NFL. The Eagles are about to crash the Chiefs’ three-peat party — and they’re bringing the whole city of Philadelphia. The city better start greasing up those light poles.
Super Bowl 59 Game Prop: A Non-QB to Throw a Passing TD (+1300)
We’ve got a fun little trend brewing in the Super Bowl — non-quarterbacks slinging touchdowns, and I’m cashing in.
San Francisco’s Jauan Jennings just cashed in during Super Bowl 58, hitting Christian McCaffrey on a 21-yard dime off a double screen. Two years before that, Joe Mixon did his best Joe Burrow impression for Cincinnati, tossing a 6-yard score to Tee Higgins. And, of course, the Philly Philly — Trey Burton to Nick Foles in Super Bowl 52 — an all-time legendary trick play.
But let’s not forget the failed attempts. New England’s Danny Amendola lobbed one over Tom Brady’s head in that same Super Bowl against the Eagles, and Patriots wideout Julian Edelman misfired the year before. Not everyone’s got that dawg in them.
Still, that’s five tries in the last eight years, and the previous three hit pay dirt. At +1300? I’ll take my chances with an online bet on some gadget-play nonsense finding the end zone again.
NFL Pick: Non QB to Throw Passing Touchdown (+1300)
Super Bowl 59 Player Prop Picks
-
Jalen Hurts Longest Run Over 12.5 Yards (-121)
Hurts has hit this mark in more than half his starts this season, and there’s no reason to think he won’t do it again on the game’s biggest stage. He torched the Chiefs for a 28-yard scramble in his last Super Bowl, and with KC’s defense locked in on Barkley, he’ll get opportunities to break loose again.
Whether it’s a designed run or a scramble under pressure, one chunk play feels inevitable. He’s too explosive to stay bottled up for four quarters. At just 12.5 yards, this number feels a little too low. Give me the over on this NFL player prop pick.
NFL Pick: Jalen Hurts Longest Run Over 12.5 Yards (-121)
-
Drue Tranquill Under 6.5 Tackles + Assists (+110)
Chiefs linebacker Drue Tranquill has hit seven tackles in just four of his last eight games, and this isn’t the best spot for him to rack up stats. While the Eagles’ run-heavy offense gives linebackers plenty of tackling opportunities, Barkley’s rushing style spreads those chances around.
Tranquill isn’t an every-down guy for Kansas City’s defense. Hee plays about 75% of snaps, with Leo Chenal rotating in on third downs. Philly’s up-tempo attack could further limit his time on the field. I’ve got him projected around 6, so at plus money, the under is worth a shot in your NFL picks.
NFL Pick: Drue Tranquill Under 6.5 Tackles + Assists (+110)

Question of the Day
When was the last upset in a Super Bowl?
Underdogs – the Chiefs in both cases – won the last two Super Bowls (+2.5 vs 49ers & +1.5 vs Eagles)
